Beautiful getaway
This little guesthouse is well maintained and decorated with thought & good taste. I slept like a baby in this quiet neighbourhood and enjoyed the morning coffee at the balcony. The pre-arrival communication was very friendly and helpful — the owners are super kind! The room was sparkling clean and I loved the interior design. There was a hairdryer, aircon, kettle, nespresso machine, fridge, complimentary coffee & water. Just perfect! The port is 5min away on foot. The same applies to supermarkets & restaurants.

WHY NOT?
700m from the port, a few meters from the bus station and a few meters from a mini market.
The climb is steep with a flight of stairs can be difficult for elderly or disabled people.
We had to take the small studio to the R.C. without booking in advance.
A small bedroom with a large bed with comfortable bedding, mini kitchenette without electric hob. A kettle, bottle of water, crockery, coffee machine, fridge, air conditioning, ironing facilities.
Shower almost Italian.
Small flat, no sink in the room or dining table.
The common kitchen is in the open-air courtyard and a table and 2 small stone benches allow you to have breakfast or other (difficult in full sun...)

Quiet, clean, relaxing worth the stairs to see the view!
This lovely little accommodation is up the hill from the port at Katapola, and rooms 3 & 4 is then up the stairs, so not suitable for anyone with mobility problems. Worth the climb though! The view from room 4 (through next door’s balcony) is stunning, great to watch the lights coming on in the town as the sun sets.
The rooms are spotless, full sized fridge, crockery and kettle are provided. There are a couple of small supermarkets for breakfast supplies.
The town has enough tavernas, to eat in a different one each night for a fortnight and food is generally very good.
If you’re looking for buzzing nightlife this is NOT the place for you. If you’re looking for total relaxation, few tourists, even fewer English voices, then I highly recommend a stay here.

Very good place to stay in Katapola
Even you have to "climb" a steppy street till there (and it's not easy with luggages), it worth. Clean, quiet but a liittle too small room, with nice terrace, where you can have breakfast or dinner very nice and friendly hosts. Great sunsets on the terrace!
5-10 minutes to bus station, and 15-20 minutes to port (left) or to little and beautiful Xilokeratidi (right). It's so difficult to choose between Katapola and Aegiali, both are beautiful and charming places, with very chic restaurants and caffes, personally I liked more Aegiali with (of course) nearby villages Potamia, Tholaria and Lagada.
Katapola is a little greater than Aegiali and "has" Xilokeratidi (must see, by day and by night!) and amazing Hora - the capital of island, gem village with narrow typically cycladic streets and astonishing views!
Amorgos is one of the strangest cyclade island I've seen, a huge "stone" in the sea, a long mountain (cca 700 m high) almost permanently covered by clouds, windy (but this is another story!), with amazing landscape and beautiful beaches. It worth to rent a car to see the south of island, Kalotaritissa is great! The roads are good but... is like driving at 2000 meters!
I dreamed to Amorgos for many years, and finally I saw "her" ! The reward: an unusual strong wind followed us all the time, (people said they never seen that), and in the end it brought a surprise: the sea storm stopped all the vessels traffic in Cyclade for two days, we lost the plane, and arrived in our country 3 days later! ...but this is nature, and an advertising about climate changing!

Excellent experience
Great location, quiet and in the heart of Katapola (not by the beach). The rooms were clean, minimal and cozy.
Both, Mrs. Vera and Mrs. Markella were friendly and excellent hosts, to say the least!
