I’ve read the previous mixed reviews. I found it clean and quiet. Outstanding breakfast buffet - worth it.

It doesn't get more unprofessional than this.
Romantic declaration of love, exactly what we wanted to book, call to the hotel regarding the reservation. "Unfortunately, I cannot accept the reservation because I do not know how it works." "Please call again tomorrow morning; the manager will be there, and she knows how it works!!!" No, that was not on April 1st, but on June 16, 2026, around 4 PM. One is left speechless by such unprofessional behavior. Not even a youth hostel could surpass this incompetence; for a hotel, it is simply pathetic!!!!!!

The round birthday
While looking for a location for my birthday, I came across the AMICAL. My wife and I live about a 10 minute walk away so the hotel was a perfect place for my celebration.
On behalf of my wife and all guests, I would like to thank you again for the great evening at AMICAL. Family Nicoli and the whole team did a huge job, ne smooth 1
Everything was fine, very great service, very great food and a wonderful location. The free parking lot was also used diligently.
Some of my guests stayed overnight. Price / performance totally ok. Very good breakfast.
Overall really recommended.

I didn't feel welcome
Well located for a daytime ride on the suspended railway or a visit to the Visiodrome. I wouldn't leave the hotel in the evening. Oberbarmen is not very different from Islamabad. I didn't feel safe and would therefore not come back. The hotel is attractively decorated, with many artworks and high rooms. They're a bit gloomy, unfortunately, but especially the doors bang all night. No problem if you have to get up at 5am. The operation of the Stv. Hotel manager as well as the young barman was deviantly unfriendly. I didn't feel welcome.

Hitel Amical and the Restaurant
I'm glad I wouldn't have to stay at this hotel.
Several weeks ago a buddy was there and wondered very much what he was allowed to experience hygienically in this hotel and he is really not fussy or fancy on it..
Luckily I was with a group in this restaurant which was beautifully developed below and has quite great pictures on the walls because I recently bought an apartment and wanted to explore the area and there was a soup included in the offer (in my opinion the soup was spicy because almost every chef exaggerates with ginger and so the ginger soup was with pumpkin and not pumpkin soup but never mind, everyone has their taste.
The little fully dressed modern waitress was totally pissed off, tried to look and look nice but her actions were not only not professional but with 20 orders 3 orders were forgotten despite noting. The lady who finally got her water after 25 minutes got a whole bottle and all the other guests had already finished the drinks halfway, and immediately after that came the soups..
I asked twice if they have fresh mint because I like to drink fresh mint tea but I was served only 150 ml tea by Messmer, but not for 4.10 € as I found out later.
But Fanta in the glass bottle 330ml cost just three euros.
Hey guys and the leadership, there's a lot of things you guys need to change at this hotel.
first renew the seals that have already been called no go in many reviews as well as hygienic conditions, briefs inserts and so on.
The staff must either look horny and then as they say it's half the battle, Or the portions and prices need to be better adjusted.
I will still recommend to my guests to book the stay with you or something to eat without talking negative about you first, and then I will be surprised what will come out of it all.
Never mind that you have 4 stars out of 5
And 3.5 stars on TripAdvisor
but that's not how you do business in the long run, even if you're about to get the visitors to eat from Vorwerk, then the ratings will really bang.
for me personally it was enough although you already have very nice rooms and great pictures and accessories no matter where you look...
