Eerily wonderful:)

An incredibly beautiful experience! Sleep like kings. The service is incredibly good. An experience that can't be compared to hotel accommodation that is mass tourism. You feel like a welcome guest. Not like a guest whose money you want.

Old fashioned and basic

We stayed in the annex building across the pathway from the main hotel. Our room was extremely clean but very basic , more like a hostel than a hotel. The bathroom was very antiquated with a light brown/ peach coloured suite and the shower was very difficult to get into as it was raised up and the actual cubicle was small. Not suitable for anyone with mobility problems.Car parking was fine; they charged 5€ a night.
Breakfast was in the main building and was good. There is no lounge area or any facilities to obtain a hot drink.
The hotel is 10 minutes walk from the town centre .

Cursed fairytale hotel

The Schloßberghotel is enchanted as in a fairytale forest, below the castle and above the old town with views of the old town or the Brocken. Our room was very spacious and quiet. Breakfast is ****. The staff very friendly. Opportunities for jogging in the nearby park, within walking distance of the old town. The hotel is our first choice should we come back again.

Historical, pleasant...good!

Very nice hotel just below the castle. You can sleep well in the beautiful rooms in the historic ambience. The staff is very friendly and happy to give tips for excursions. The center is within easy walking distance. We would be happy to come back.

Wonderful As Always!

Our fourth and hopefully not our last stay in this excellent hotel. The location is excellent, the parking is very easy and secure, the hosts and staff are lovely and very helpful - we had some specific questions about places to visit and were given lots of useful information (we visited all the places described) - and the rooms are very comfortable and warm and some have great views over the town.
A great base for seeing Schloss Wernigerode, the wonderful Harz Mountains, the Harzerschmalspurbahn, Goslar, Gernrode, Halberstad, the Rammelsburg, Dora-Mittelbau, Wernigerode itself of course, the Bodetal and lots of other places.
There are some excellent restaurants within a few minutes' walk, and the staff will be happy to make reservations for you if you so wish.
We just love it here. Thank you to the hosts and the staff for another wonderful stay!
