absolutely exceptional in every way!

(English review below)
Staying at hotel Hollerbusch was absolutely wonderful and I cannot wait to return there. The hotel and the hostess are both truly exceptional and this was one of my best travel experiences in my life. Let me start with the hotel and location. The hotel is situated near the historical city centre in a very good location to visit Weimar and its surroundings. The hotel is absolutely stunning, the building itself is gorgeous and there is a very beautiful garden as well as a cosy library and salon where you can go to relax, read, eat some delicious or have a drink. The entire building breathes elegance, history and cosiness. The building has been restored to its former glory and the hostess has gone to great efforts to ensure that all the furniture and decorations match the soul and history of the building. The rooms are spacious, clean and beautifully furnished as well. It feels as if you stepped back in time. We were all touched and nostalgic when we entered the building and were surprised by extreme eye for detail. The cosy library and reading nooks are every bookworm’s dream (believe me, I know). The hostess is incredibly kind and welcoming, if perhaps a little too modest about how wonderful the hotel is. Furthermore, she is also very talented and knowledgeable with regard to the history of the building etc. The breakfast is the best I have ever had so far in my life. It comprised a plethora of delicious fresh pastries, cakes, baked goods, fresh fruit, spreads, cold cuts, cheeses, breads etc. I have a great sweet tooth and I’ve never had so much choice. The hostess also took my allergies into account and made sure nothing was cross-contaminated, which was very kind of her and ensured that I could enjoy all the delicious foods. In the afternoon, you can spoil yourself with a delicious fresh piece of cake or pastry or a drink and enjoy them on the lovely terrace beneath the trees and this is all included in your stay! We had the time of our life here and will definitely be returning in the future. In my opinion, this is the best hotel stay I’ve had so far. This is the perfect hotel for those who like delicious food, good books, warm welcomes, history and gorgeous architecture.

stylish relaxation

All too gladly I agree with the consistently positive reviews!
I will not forget this particularly pleasant stay, which was characterized by the loving and tasteful design of the house by Mrs. Kolly and her friendly and courteous nature..
You can only feel comfortable here.
For my future visit to Weimar I will always love to come back to this, in every respect, extraordinary hotel.

Making great memories of hospitality

My husband and I are travelling Thuringia this summer and we are spending two nights in this beautiful hotel. The Villa has been renovated with so much care and attention to detail. Attached to a natural garden we are almost tempted to spend more time in here than visiting all the many sites in town. The rooms are classy and furnished generously and in style hand selected by the owner and her family. Hospitality is held high, non-alcoholic beverages and delicious pastries are included. I feel welcome like a friend not like a tourist. We booked including breakfast. The Buffett had it all: fresh fruit, a great selection of cheeses and delis, cereals and countless spreads and honey with eggs any style to order and lots more. The owner has lots to tell about the Villa and it’s history. Bike rentals are for free too. An unforgettable stay, we will be back!

Don’t go there with kids!

Don’t go there with kids!
Unfortunately, staying at this hotel has been one of our worst hotel experiences ever.
First, the good things:
The hotel is nicely refurbished, rooms are spacious, and the breakfast is good. The location is quite central and you can walk to the most important sights in Weimar.
However:
We had an particularly bad experience with the hotel management during the few days we stayed there. On multiple locations, the hotel manager was picking on our kids, addressing them directly in a way that the kids got scared and intimidated, and one of our kids started crying. We have been staying in more than a dozen hotels in multiple countries with our kids and never had an experience that even came close to this one.
The occasions were quite profane, examples: the kids were collecting snails in the garden and building a bed of leaves for them (“they are destroying the garden! Ripping flowers from all the bushes!”); one child was coming down to breakfast with her mom (“too loud stomping down the stairs!”). These are just two of many occasions.
Overall, very unpleasant experience, the kids didn’t want to leave their rooms and our whole stay in Weimar was greatly affected by the very impolite hotel management.
Don’t go there with kids.
Choose another hotel.
