It was a nice property although the check in procedure was a little unclear. It's also not mentioned on the French booking site that payment is made at the property (expedia just takes card details, I presume to hold the reservation), so there was a bit of a kerfuffle the next morning as that got sorted out.
Besides those couple of issues I would definitely recommend this property, I had a really good night sleep and it was a short drive to the dragon fest.

Recently opened, nicely reconstructed traditional Bavarian Inn

Very nicely renovated traditional townhouse with rooms in real timber (hotel owner is a carpenter who also owns a wood building construction company called TEREDO Vollholzhaus GmbH). Very clean and cozy. Great location right in the middle between Regensburg, Straubing, Karlsbad/Marienbad and Pilsen (all reachable within 1-2 hours by car) in the northern part of the Bavarian Forest.
