Very clean hotel with nice rooms and comfortable beds.
Everyone plesent and helpful.
No bar, but there's an covered outdoor area and a vending machine selling ice cold beer. To the best of my knowledge there's a BBQ provided for guests to use.

We had booked months in advance and relied on the good reviews. Our room was on the top floor without a lift. The 1. Impression of the hallway was a bit dingy (with stains on the carpet and walls). The room seemed old-fashioned/ageing, but that's not the reason for our poor review. We had day and night 28-30 degrees in the room, no air conditioning, no fan. When we opened the windows at night to cool down, it was so noisy that you couldn't sleep not only because of the heat but also because of the noise, in addition to the mosquitoes. The cleanliness of the room was absolutely deficient. Starting with a glass standing on the floor in the corner, where the previous guest had probably captured an animal, to large cookie crumbs, paper and huge clouds of dust. The bathroom was old and quite calcified. Overall, our room looked old and absolutely not cleaned or maintained.
When we already checked out after one night and were not even at breakfast (even though we had booked 2 nights), the reason was not asked either. That actually shows that there is probably no great service idea here.
There are other hotels nearby that have climate, are clean and provide great Service.

Good stay - trouble afterwards - definitely not again!

I had a basically pleasant stay – the room was overall clean and quiet, and the service at reception friendly. However, there were two points that clouded my overall impression:
• The shower fittings were calcified and would have needed cleaning.
• Even more serious: After my departure, I was charged for damage that I did not cause to the best of my knowledge. Communication on this was unsatisfactory in my view and far from customer-friendly. I was not even contacted, but immediately faced with a debit (initially without invoice).
I cannot assess whether this was an isolated incident, but I would encourage other guests to pay particular attention during check-in and check-out.

Quaint hotel with a nice breakfast included. Rooms are spacious with a fan, which is nice during the warmer months. Easy drive to Speyer cathedral. Available grocery stores. Heidelberg only 1/2 hour away. Several restaurants within walking distance.
