Easy to find, in a quiet location right by the lake. Easy access to swimming either right on the shore, or by a row boat to a lovely beach in just ten minutes. The guesthouse is very cute, and the breakfast very filling. Not much English spoken but everything is pretty self-explanatory. Restaurants/shops in the area close quite early, and on Sunday don’t open until quite late in the morning, but it’s a great place to relax and enjoy the view.

Pension Haus Kaiser- A Real Delight!

My wife and I have stayed at the Gaestehaus Kaiser, a small pension, at least 10 times in the past 25 years. It is located directly across the street from the beautiful Tegernsee. The pension is at the edge of the business district of Rottach-Egern, a beautiful (but pricey) Bavarian lake resort town. It's about a 5 minute walk to the center of town.
The pension is small (about 7 or 8 rooms), but immaculate. The rooms are charming, comfortable, and spotless. Breakfasts- typical Bavarian fare- are very good and served in a comfortable breakfast room. Margret Mannhardt is the long-time proprietress, and is a delightful lady. Be aware that almost no English is spoken here, but it's still pretty easy to manage. It's been a couple of years since we've been there so we're not current on prices, but they have been quite reasonable in the past. An added bonus is Margret's "laden", a small store on the ground floor which sells all sorts of really good foodstuffs.
I have travelled extensively all over Europe the past 30 years, and can unequivocally say that the Haus Kaiser is one of the nicest, most charming places I have stayed. Realize that you are not booking a luxury hotel, but a German pension- it's a really nice one.

Saubere lieb geführte Pension, Preis- Leistung stimmt auf jeden Fall. Ruhiges Zimmer in den Innenhof mit Balkon.
