Terrible service, ratings are old
The reception operates from the bar/restaurant area of the Kartoffelhaus on the ground floor. When we arrived early in the evening the woman checking us in had no access to our booking details when she asked if we wanted breakfast. We couldn't remember if we had booked with or without on our deal.
The room was acceptable, but the bathroom very small, with a broken shower head, which I repaired temporarily, but it will fall apart when next touched. Having just been told nobody from the hotel was working reception I decided to fix it rather than complain.
One thing I hate is when there is no plug in the sink, as there was in this bathroom. You are nervous you may lose your ring or only razor blade down the large black hole, and you also waste so much water.
Not great we thought but, it is only one night. Then we went down for breakfast.
Walking into the restaurant we were met with a very unfriendly "your table is up the steps and on the right!" in a hard voice. No "good morning" greeting, no "is everything ok?".
Then we arrived at the room full of school dinners or prison food. I honestly have never seen this before in a hotel and I travel the world. Each table had been prepared for each room, but ALL the food and drink you were to receive was already on the table, rationed exactly.
The slices of meat, bread, orange, sliced tomato, were all sitting uncovered on each table. The meat was already looking curled at tbe edges as it was drying out. Who knows how many flies had walked across the food and there were many tables awaiting the other guests. The meats were the cheapest water pumped supermarket type. The boiled egg was inedible as it was so liquid and undercooked. My partner asked if she could have a harder one but was told it was a different cook today! What does that mean? Nobody else is allowed to boil an egg, so no replacement was offered.
I was given a pot if fresh coffee only to discover that there was no fresh milk or cream being offered, only plastic sachets of long-life milk. How hard is it to provide fresh milk for coffee in a small hotel. The orange juice was also out of a long-life packet, the taste was instantly recognisable. If we couldn't get another egg cooked, nobody was squeezing oranges in there.
We decided to eat what we could and leave, but not before the finale.
We watched as two guests came in and asked if they could have breakfast. There were many places free, as they had prepared the exact amount in advance for the prisoners, sorry guests.
The same unfriendly woman was very unhappy with their late request and said that this was not possible as there were no prepared tables. The guests looked very surprised as they looked around the room and pushed harder. Finally she let them sit at a prepared table, complaining they would need to set a new table for the other guests. This was all done in a very cold and unfriendly manner. The room was very quiet as nobody dared to ask for anything, as we new there was no "service" being provided today!
Take it or leave it.
Checkout was also unfriendly, it was a process, trying to charge us for two nights by mistake, but no apologies or "was everything ok?".
The person in charge during our visit has never been trained in the hospitality industry. I have never seen this attitude before except in Fawlty Towers, the comedy TV series. None of the guests will return when you have choices today, so I am not sure what the point of this attitude is. If you don't like your eork, go and get a new job where you don't deal with people.
We will not be back. One night of vacation spoiled.

Soweit ok
Obstsalat etc. fehlt total.
Das Einzelzimmer mit Frühstück zu ca. 60€ .
