Hotel Allgäu Sonne in Oberstaufen: A hotel that leaves nothing to be desired!

I spent three weeks in the beautiful wellness hotel Allgäu Sonne as a Schrothkur guest.
The food was excellent despite diet. Later, my husband, who had booked a normal half-board, followed suit. The evening meals of the multi-course menu are a dream. The staff at the restaurant are always friendly, on hand immediately and know you by name after a short time.
Although I never went hungry and drank a lot of wine, I lost almost five kilos. This was also possible thanks to the fantastic sports program and the gigantic modern gym.
The daily guided hikes are fantastic and easy to manage even with little fitness.
My special thanks go to the great trainers and the physiotherapists who looked after me or treated me: Stefan, Melanie, Erika, Claudia, Jaqueline (from sports) and Isabel and Hermione (from physiotherapy).
The team and Dr. Brosig from the spa practice also take their time and look after you lovingly and professionally.
The hotel with its fantastic location also offers a wonderful wellness complex with several pools and a new sauna, several sun terraces and an outdoor pool, an underground car park with charging facilities for electric cars, an almost hourly transfer to the village and for families in external houses even apartments.
The new hotel director, Marius Levinger, is present and reports on new things at a weekly champagne reception.
If you want to celebrate, you will get your money's worth at Sießberg Stüble. There is a band playing here every day and Odin and Andy provide you with drinks and still present a funny saying.
Alternatively, you can also attend interesting lectures in the evening. For example, the legal presentations by the lawyer, Vera Laun. These lectures are entertaining but extremely informative.
The rooms are a bit old, but here too the Levinger family is working on it. The renovations are already underway. Room service and cleaning are excellent and very thorough. I have rarely seen this in large hotel chains with 5 stars. It can be seen that everyone enjoys working here and this also leads to a pleasant atmosphere.
Yes, the Allgäu sun in the Oberstaufen leaves nothing to be desired, and we will certainly come back!

Horrible service for sure not a 5 star hotel,

Good location but terrible service from no professionals excuse was it is impossible to find staff
Also no AC it was 31 degrees when we arrived in the room
We could change the room but were forced to pay 70 euros more No commercial gesture
No staff Athe pool after 5 -m , no staff Athe spa where you were supposed to fill up a form to see if any appointment were available
Restaurant was catastrophic

Not worth going back.

Well, it's not a 5-star hotel - the furnishings are outdated, and the service is not up to 5-star standards.

Beautiful facility, but the bartender Albert is unacceptable.

We spent several days in this wonderful facility, and the judgment would have been excellent due to the professionalism of the other staff, if it had not been for the service at the bar.
Unfortunately, the experience was ruined by the bartender Albert (who strongly resembles the Italian host Alfonso Signorini): an unpleasant character who harassed my wife and my 17-year-old daughter with inappropriate looks and constant flirting. The worst part was when he mumbled very vulgar remarks in Italian, firmly believing that we would not understand him. I ignored him and pretended not to understand anything, just to not ruin the vacation for my family, but his behavior was absolutely degrading.
In addition to this rudeness, his professional competence is also lacking: Of the four ordered cocktails (two alcoholic and two non-alcoholic), two were completely prepared incorrectly and one was inedible in taste. It is incomprehensible how a hotel of this level can entrust its bar to such a vulgar and incompetent person. Despite the beauty of the place, we will never return.

except for breakfast, still very good!

Everything is fine, except for breakfast, which does not meet the standards of quality and quantity of a top house!
as an example:
the bread rolls, as well as the vegetables, were anything but fresh, that must not be at this level!
Furthermore, the presentation, as well as the selection is quite meagre, you should rework there.
otherwise a still beautiful house, which stays on the ball-renovations of the various areas and rooms!
