a shabby hotel in a shabby area of Mannheim

Running out of options, on my way driving home to the Netherlands, I have booked this hotel for one night. The ouside of this small hotel looked well maintained, the room however was very old fashioned and did not offer any but basic comfort.Except for a snackbar there was no restaurant on walking distance. Although the receptionist has been very kind, I certainly vannot recommend this poorly and overprized hotel.

Good hotel for one or two nights

The hotel's about 5km from Mannheim and prices are a bit less than in the city. Friendly check-in, friendly service at breakfast, and good selection of food at breakfast. Hotel clean and modern (appears to have been renovated quite recently). My single room was quite small, and the bathroom was very small with almost no room to move. Free and fast (could stream TV programmes) internet access over WLAN in the room. Limited parking at the rear of the hotel. Places to eat and get a drink within a few minutes' walk of the hotel. Slight noise from the very few aircraft which fly to / from Mannheim. My room was to the rear of the hotel, so no noise from road.

Für ne Nacht auf Geschäftsreise ok

War dort für zwei Nächte. Sehr freundliches Betreiberpaar. Die Zimmer sind rustikal eingerichtet aber mit Flatscreen. Frühstück ist gut. Restaurant oder Fahrstuhl nicht vorhanden. Macht aber nix, fußläufig genug zu erreichen. Bad recht klein, aber sauber und mit Fön. Internet im 2. OG allerdings nicht empfangbar. Für ein, zwei Nächte auf Geschäftsreise ohne überzogene Ansprüche ok.

Für ein Wochenende vollkommen ausreichend.

Ich und ein Freund hatten ein Doppelzimmer über ein Wochenende gebucht weil wir zum Hockenheimring wollten. Getrennte Betten bestellt getrennte Betten bekommen.
Leider gibt es keinen Fahrstuhl somit musste man laufen im Treppenhaus sollte man auch nicht zu groß sein sonst stößt man mit dem Kopf an die obere Etage.
Obwohl frühester Check in erst ab 14 urh war durften wir unser Zimmer schon 11 Uhr beziehen. Das Zimmer war im großen und ganzen sauber nur in der Dusche waren 1-2 kleine Haare sollte nicht passieren aber kann passieren.
Wir waren im zweiten Stock und an unserem Fenster war ein Aufkleber mit "Notaustieg".
Das Personal war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend egal in welcher Lage.
Das Frühstück war etwas schmal gehalten für einen Preis von 10€ erwarte ich etwas mehr, wir kamen um 9:30 und es war schon fast alles alle an Wurst und Käse und wurde auch nicht erneuert.
Etwas nervig war die laute Lüftung im Bad, welche erst nach ca. 20min ausging.
Perfekte Anbindung zum Hauptbahnhof!
Auch durch Baustelle vorm Haus und somit der Ausball der Straßenbahnstation überhaupt kein Problem. Es wurden für Busse gesorgt.
Wir haben 120€ pro Nacht bezahlt wenn dies der Standartpreis ist ist es eindeutig zu teuer.

Naja, schön ist anders aber es geht

Wir haben das Hotel besucht, weil wir in Mannheim auf einem Konzert waren.
Die Anreise gestaltete Sich, bis auf die 4 Parkplätze hinterm Haus, die definitiv nicht breit genug für 4 Autos sind, sehr gut. Auch wenn auf die eben erwähnten Parkplätze normalerweise keine 4 Autos drauf passen, erwartet man an der Rezeption trotzdem das es funktioniert (naja, 4 Corsas könnten passen). Egal, sollte man da nicht parken wollen kann man auf der anderen Straßenseite auf einem, nicht als Parkplatz ausgeschilderten, Grünstreifen neben dem Radweg parken.
Das Personal an sich ist sehr bemüht und freundlich. Das Die Zimmer allerdings eher klein, dunkel und haben schon bessere Zeiten gesehen. Altmodische Einrichtung, Steckdosen zum Handy aufladen muss man suchen, wir haben also die Nachttischlampe ausgestöpselt. Alles in allem wirkt das Gebäude von außen und innen nicht als wäre es immer schon als Hotel geplant gewesen. Hat irgendwie "look and feel" eine Mehrfamilienhauses in das man noch ein paar Wände und Türen eingezogen hat. Das Frühstück ist okay, aber auch nicht mehr ... für 10€ allerdings schon etwas happig ... für das gebotene.
Das gute ist die Verkehrsanbindung, direkt vorm Hotel gibt es eine Straßenbahnhaltestelle mit Anschluss nach Mannheim / Heidelberg. nachteil bei der Geschichte ist, das diese Bahn auch Nachts fährt und man im Hotelzimmer alles mitbekommt (wenn man ein Zimmer zur Straße hat).
Da das Hotel mitten zwischen anderen Wohnhäusern liegt kann man auch mal Krach vom Nachbarn mitbekommen. Wir sind zum Beispiel durch ein hungriges Baby mitten in der Nacht geweckt worden.
Fazit: Es ist okay für eine Nacht. Bei längerem Aufenthalt würde ich lieber ein anderes Hotel suchen.
