We loved having breakfast in the cellar! Unique atmosphere and delicious food and beverages. Air conditioning was nonexistent and it was unseasonably hot in May so that one aspect needs improvement!! Otherwise, manager Jessica was super helpful! Also, Sofia in the cellar dining room, was pleasant and friendly! Charming grounds and location to nearby attractions like the Heidelberg schloss and the town can’t be beaten! Felt very safe and bed was comfy! Altogether, a great value for the price!

Great place to stay

My husband and I spent two nights at the Hotel Villa Marstall and very much enjoyed our stay.
The location was perfect, right by the Neckar River and just a few minute walk to the main city center with lots of cafes, restaurants and shops. The Old Bridge was a five minute walk and the place to purchase tickets to the funicular to the Heidelberg Castle wasn’t a long walk.
Martino, the owner/proprietor was friendly, welcoming and very helpful.
Our room was cozy, very clean and comfortable.
If you plan to visit Heidelberg you won’t be disappointed if you choose to stay at the Hotel Villa Marstall!

Villa and Castle: Heidelberg Does Not Disappoint

My stay at Hotel Villa Marstall in Heidelberg was outstanding from start to finish. The hotel enjoys a beautiful location right along the river, offering a peaceful atmosphere while still being within easy reach of Heidelberg’s historic center.
While the hotel itself does not offer on-site parking, the process was still very manageable. There is space directly in front of the hotel to conveniently unload suitcases, and several large parking lots are located nearby, making it easy to settle in without stress.
What truly sets this hotel apart is the exceptional management. The manager is absolutely fantastic and goes above and beyond—truly bending over backwards—to ensure every guest feels welcomed and well cared for. This level of personal attention makes a lasting impression.
The rooms are comfortable and well-appointed, with excellent views of Heidelberg Castle that add a special charm to the stay. Another highlight is the breakfast, served in a beautiful vaulted basement. The selection is wide-ranging and delicious, offering something for every taste and setting the perfect tone for the day.
I highly recommend Hotel Villa Marstall to anyone visiting Heidelberg. Its combination of location, comfort, and exceptional hospitality makes it a truly memorable place to stay.
