Recommended

Nice rooms. We even had a balcony. Absolutely pet friendly. Our German Shepherd was allowed to go everywhere. The food was also very good, from Palatinate specialties to the classics. The staff was very nice too. Overall a recommendation without sacrificing. We will definitely come back.

An all-round successful stay – highly recommended!

We had a wonderful stay at Landgasthof zum Oxen in Hauenstein. The rooms were very clean, cozy and lovingly decorated – you immediately feel comfortable. Of particular note is the excellent food: Fresh, regional and prepared with love – every dish was a treat!
A big praise goes to the Engel family, who took care of us extremely warmly and courteously. All our wishes have been fulfilled, and you can see how much commitment and hospitality we work with here.
We not only felt comfortable – but very comfortable! We will definitely come back and can only warmly recommend this country inn.

Unfortunately very unfriendly and not professional

The owner's behavior is unfortunately very unfriendly and unprofessional. A simple telephone request for the availability of a table for lunch was aborted after 45 seconds by him with the sentence "I don't have time for it now". Then the obviously completely annoyed gentleman hung up. This is not a way to deal with potential guests! We will certainly no longer ask for information here, and will only make negative recommendations. It seems like being a guest is just disturbing. It's a shame.

Incredibly unfriendly service. No flexibility. It's like we're back in the 1940s. Not recommended. Food is frozen with sauces and soups from packages. Paying by card is a problem. Nothing can be put in the room either. No fridge in the room and no care products in the bathroom.

Recommended country inn.

Very nice and cozy country inn with an excellent selection of regional dishes. In March, in addition to the general menu, there were also "schnitzel weeks", very tasty ;-). The staff are professional, very friendly and helpful.
