Improved a lot!

We didn't expect much from this place as we had seen some bad reviews from before. But new ownership has changed this quite a lot. I do speak German but my wife doesn't, and we were pleasantly surprised when we were met a very nice lady going to great lengths to assist us. She spoke perfect English after many years in the US and she has really taken the bull by its horns. Rooms are still old fashioned but extremely clean. The personal touch and as the restaurant was closed due to illness, she was really helpful in finding a nearby places where we could enjoy a good meal. They do trust their customers a lot as well, as the hotel doesn't have a mini bar in the rooms, they have a fridge in the reception area, where you may take what you want, and add it to your bill when you check out. Overall experience was worth 5 in my rating, but I have to deduct one for the lack of updating the rooms to the 21st century. But the place has taken a huge leap forward and it is having the typical Bavarian familiar great service. As well we were lacking still water, only sparkling water to be found. But it was free of charge. We checked out a bit late, and even though the breakfast service was over, they offered us breakfast free of charge and they had a great variety of breakfast dishes, everything from fruit, cereals to eggs and bread rolls. Thank you for a great stay and hope to see you soon again!

3 Stars hotel with some incongruity.

Location = in the village. Moreless 25 miles (45 min.) south of Munich.
Parking = outside F.o.C.
Staff = courteous.
Style = classic / Bavarian.
Room = acceptable but very quite.
Cleanliness = very good.
Bathroom = good (Room #256: very very big with ONLY shower) but it needs a refurbishment.
Cleanliness = very good
Restaurant = it is in front of the hotel. Not tested.
Breakfast = good and fresh even if not too many choices.
Facilities = none.
REMARKS = It should be a "Family" hotel managed by (a lot of) women.
Unfortunately they speak a VERY POOR English (somebody... does not!!).
They do not have any elevator, so ask for help if your room is at the second floor!!
I would suggest some refurbishment to improve the quality of the staying.

Great European experience

This was a nice little surprise. It threw me a curve ball at first when I realized this hotel didn't have an elevator and I had to walk up to the 2nd floor carrying my suitcase. The smell of cow poop as soon as I arrived didn't help either. The staff didn't speak any English so it took forever for them to understand that I wanted a blanket.
Once I got passed it, the bathroom is very large for European standards and the food at the hotel's restaurant is AMAZING. Very family atmosphere, I loved it. I was there for a week and when it was time to leave I actually got upset - it was starting to feel like home.
