Nice place
Not far from the main train station,situated in the quiet street.
My room was spacious and clean,with fridge and tv.Bathroom with hot water,enough of soft towels and a hair dryer.
I stayed only for one night,and I had to leave early in the morning,so I didn't stay for breakfast.
The owner was nice and helpful.
My recommandations.

Outrageous!
Catastrophe! One star is too many. We arrived on a public holiday. There was no staff in the building. Our room was on the ground floor, directly at the bottom left, at the intersection of the entrance gate and the street. At first glance, everything seemed relatively clean. However, the furniture had passed its time. Worn, creaky, saggy and the headboard on the bed was broken. When we moved the bed, we found ant bait, as well as huge amounts of dust and cobwebs. The smoking area designated by the guesthouse is right by the window. The ash tray and window are about 15 cm apart. Absolutely unacceptable. And people stare into the room while doing so. In addition, this is a noisy street and there is a daycare center directly opposite.
The hospitality that is so highly praised in the reviews on the part of the guesthouse operator stops as soon as you declare a defect and ask for it to be remedied. They did not want to offer us another room or compensation. We left immediately. Parking spaces are also in short supply, by the way. There is the possibility to park 1-2 cars in the courtyard. Unfortunately, absolutely not recommended. The rooms are also not wheelchair accessible. The bathroom is very small. Be careful, the owner deletes dialogues which prevent a bad review on the booking portal!!! They also lie here, we wouldn't have come in the first place!

Wonderful staff
Due to a train glitch, we were later than we thought in getting there. There was no street number, but the sign on the front of the building is large. The worst part was being given a 3rd floor (4th floor in U.S.terms) room and there were all sorts of apologies since my husband and I both need canes, and he, especially, found the stairs difficult. But, our suitcases were carried up for us and we had a large, airy room. The staff was wonderful, helpful, and went beyond all expectations. There is a restaurant down the street which was very good but otherwise there are few places to eat within 3 or 4 blocks. The room was very clean. The large bathroom has the standard German tub. The separate shower is amusing in that one has to step into what looks like a half size bathtub and then pull the curtain around. It would have been a great place for us except for our lack of foresight in asking for a room on the ground or first floor. Again, it was clean and the staff makes the place worth 4 stars.

Simple Hotel, Friendly Staff
Four friends and I shared a big room containing two double beds and one single bed. In the bathroom there was a shower and a bathtub, but annoyingly the door didn‘t lock which would have been nice with 5 people in one room.
When we arrived relatively late the staff were super friendly and showed us to our rooms and in the morning breakfast was good as well.

this pension was a pleasant surprise
This pension was booked when our anticipated booking fell through. The pension is located on a quiet street and its sign is tiny (the street number is larger). It is less than a 10 minute walk to Domplatz. The streets in the centrum all curve and several incorporate bridges but everything is close together. Our booking was made and confirmed by email in German. Frau Gerber was not what we expected; she is a glamorous professional dancer and met us at the door in full regalia. She is also a delightful hostess and provides an ample and tasty breakfast. The pension is three stories tall and probably has 10-12 units. Breakfast is served in a large sunny room on the ground floor. The rooms are spacious, the bathroom large. Everything was fresh and meticulously clean. Our WC was one I had never seen before; its construction would really be handy for anyone interested in stool auguries. It worked just fine though. With my college German I was able to communicate while on the topic of my choosing but Frau Gerber did not switch into English at any time although she obviously understands some. The street outside is cobbled and tire noise is evident if windows are open early in morning. Our stay was only E 56/day plus a 5% tourism tax. I thought this place offered full value for this price.
