Alles gut!
Wir waren mit dem Fahrrad in Einbeck und haben bei den bei Bed&Bike gelisteten Unterkünften nichts mehr bekommen. Aber im goldenen Löwen alles schön renoviert mit gutem Frühstück zu einem akzeptablen Preis, empfehlenswert! Die Räder konnten auch angemessen abgestellt werden.

very strange, booked three nights, lasted only two!
while planning to visit friends in Einbeck i searched for hotels in the city centre and came across this one. it looked reasonably nice with a rustic decore and was very central, therefore i booked it directly over the phone. this is when the alarm bells should have rang. no details were taken apart from my name and phone number and i recieved no confirmation.
we had arranged for some friends from holland to meet us there and they too had booked in to this hotel. when we arrived at the hotel on a wet wednesday afternoonn at 3pm we could not get in. the front door was locked and there was a sign on it. my german is very poor but we found our way round the back to a door marked reception. entering it was pitch black untill suddenly a little light went on and a ladies face appeared. she was sat there all the time! telling her our reservation she booked us in. "room 23, upstairs on left, what time you want breakfast?" thats it!
our room was up two flights of stairs, a feat with two suitcases. we were in the attic! the room looked like it had not been decorated since 1985. two very narrow single pine beds with foam mattresses and one strange pillow you needed to fold in half. plus the room was freezing as the heating was off. the bathroom was basic but massive. one tiolet, a basin and a shower and enough room for a double bed. there was also a tiny mirror. our dutch friends got a lovely room on the first floor that had been recently decorated!
there is free wifi in the hotel. not avaible on the 2nd floor and we couldnt get it to connect to anything anyway. the lights in the landings are on sensors but dont turn on till you have walked up them in pitch black. you can not shut the room doors with out creating a lot of noise.
i did not sleep well for the two nights we satyed here. the beds creak dreadfully when u breath, the sheets made me itch and the person with stilettos wondering about at 6am on the wooden floors in the landing was great.
one redeaming aspect was the breakfast. the first morning its was lovely with a wide sekction of cold meats and bread and cheese. the second day not so as it was the same from the day before, a bit stale. however the waitress was very pleasent and cheery. breakfast is served in the bar/reception area, so there is no bar for drinks. they dont do everning meals (we went out to friends anyway) u can get coffee from a machine on the landing though.
after the second night we decieded to cut our losses and move on. a great pitty as einbeck is a beautiful city. this hotel cost us 150 euros for the two nights. not worth the money at all!

Für eine Nacht ganz ok!
Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral. Unser Zimmer war renoviert, sauber und ausgestattet mit allem was man für eine Nacht braucht. Der Boden ist etwas schief und die Zimmertür knarzt. Was kein Wunder ist bei so einem alten Haus. Das Frühstück findet in einem ehemaligen Bar-Raum statt und ist sehr lecker und reichhaltig. Der Service hier ist sehr nett und aufmerksam. Bei Ankunft mußten wir uns telefonisch melden und bekamen einen Code für den Schlüsselkasten. Was ohne Probleme von Statten ging. Kostenfreie Parkplätze stehen zur Verfügung.

Einfache Unterkunft zu inakzeptabel hohem Preis in idealer Lage
Der Goldene Löwe liegt ideal mitten in der historischen Altstadt, zentral und trotzdem ruhig. Auf Wunsch Parkmöglichkeit im Hof. Freisitz ebendort, allerdings sehr ungepflegt.
Wir hatten ein winziges Zimmer im Dachgeschoss, schräge Wände, 2 Betten über Eck. Ich würde es als Kinder-, Monteur- oder Chauffeurzimmer bezeichnen. WLAN mit Repeater vorhanden, hat aber nicht funktioniert. Badezimmer mit kaputter Duschkabine (Duschgarnitur aber neu). Bad hinreichend sauber, unter den Betten allerdings reichlich Wollmäuse. Das Zimmer heizt sich im Sommer stark auf, ein Ventilator stand leider nicht zur Verfügung.
Trotz des vorhandenen guten TV dürfte solch ein Zimmer m.E. nicht mehr als 60€ kosten, uns wurden aber 92€ abverlangt.
Das Restaurant im Erdgeschoss ist modern und gut eingerichtet, war jedoch außer Betrieb (Coronafolge?). Optisch sehr ansprechend und liebevoll angerichtetes Frühstücksbuffet (kalt) bei dem man allerdings zuckerfreie Müsliflocken und Naturyoghurt vermisst.
Das Haus ist in die Jahre gekommen. Außer einer frei zugänglichen Kaffeemaschine und Kühlschrank in der ersten Etage bietet es keinerlei Luxus, verfügt aber trotzdem über einen gewissen (maroden) Charme, so daß ich wiederkommen würde, wenn es denn preiswerter wäre.

Ein gem ütlicher Aufenthalt in Einbeck
Das Hotel "Goldener Löwe" ist kein 5-Sterne Hotel, aber adrett, sauber und
gemütlich.
Wir wurden freundlich empfangen und vom Personal verwöhnt, sei es beim Frühstück oder im Garten.
Gut, die Gartentische und -Stühle hätten einen neuen Anstrich nötig, doch
was soll es, wir hatten bei der Hitze einen wunderschönen kühlen Platz.
!!! Die Bewertung des Christian98765 "Warnung" können wir nicht nachempfingen. Es ist ein altes Haus und wie gesagt, wir fanden es sehr sauber, ordentlich und adrett vor
gemütlich.
