Lousy
At check-in, they tried to charge double. AC In the room was set to 19 degrees full speed but the room was still 28-29 degrees all night. The elevator was turned off after we checked in and we went stay on the fourth floor with kids and packing. The toilet was in one part and the lamp and fan turned off after 15 seconds, the shower in the other part. No WIFI code.

Poor attention at reception.
Having formalized a reservation in person at the hotel reception at 1 PM, they do not allow entry until 6 PM without explaining the reason. Lack of clarity in the explanations for accessing the parking; we entered the wrong one, which meant we paid for parking at the hotel and again upon leaving, as it was a different parking lot.
We requested the invoice several times, encountering problems entering the ID number on it.
For a 4-star hotel, it leaves much to be desired; there is no hairdryer in the room, the reception hours are very limited, breakfast is only on weekends, and they even tried to charge us a higher rate than on Booking.
Lack of empathy with the customer. We will not return.

Worst 4 star hotel we've ever stayed in. No service, you have to do everythingyourself: from check-in to getting a next toilet paper roll. They say they do the room every other day but we've stayed for 4 nights and our room was never done. See picture showing the dust. Swimming pool is not in the hotel itself. Interesting fact: we had booked on their website eight weeks in advance, mentioning that 2 of the 4 nights we would pay with a Wonderbox voucher (a gift from friends) Booking confirmation received with no further comment...séven weeks later, óne week before our arrival, they send an email saying they only accept Wonderbox vouchers when booked by phone or email and that furthermore during a Messe (Fair) they don't accept these vouchers. After our reply, politely saying we were disappointed with the timing and asking to reconsider, the answer was first an Email confirming payment receipt via our credit card and thén an email explaining that it were "Wonderbox rules". We could not cancel anymore anyway. If you want your money's worth in Cologne center, we advise choosing another hotel.

We traveled to Cologne as a family and friends in April and stayed at the hotel for 3 days.
We had booked a 4-bed room, a double bed, and 2 sleeping places on a pull-out sofa. In the evening when going to bed, we noticed that the blankets on the sofa smelled of vomit. When lifting the sheet, there was a large stain that also smelled of vomit. So one person got a very small single room. The rest slept three in the double bed. The other person then received a single room the next day. There were also no efforts to set up the sofa with a new mattress, so it was not possible to sit there either. The family overnight stay was thus completely ruined. Our friends had a very small and uncomfortable room. The bed was in a niche, so one always had to climb over the other.
The boss was apparently not there. When she returned after a week, we were told the following: They could have gone for breakfast / We can still offer you a 20% discount on your next visit.
That is simply ridiculous. We will never stay in this hotel again and cannot recommend it at all.

Approach with caution
As per the email I sent the hotel and had no reply to:
Your website says "Box spring bed with 1.80 x 2.00 meter Supreme mattress" but the video, pictures and reality was 2 single beds pushed together, with 2 single duvets, neither of these things scream luxury.

70 international TV channels - no, TV in the seating area didn't work all the time and unless you count Austrian channels then all were in German.
The Hotels.com listing showed a balcony, this was the MAIN reason I chose your hotel so was very unhappy to learn there was no balcony. I was more upset when my partner was told there was no smoking on the balcony anyway as that is not why we choose a balcony and the simply assume that is rude. It did appear someone had smoked in our room given the burns on the sofa bed.
Hotels.com states 'Full-service spa - Hot tub - Massage - Sauna - Spa open daily - Steam room' on site, we gave up asking about facilities at the hotel and could not find that ourselves. Obviously we were not told about such things, or the 'tour and ticket' assistance alluded to.
I checked in online, the digital card didn't work so I checked in again outside and got charged the full amount. The process failed but it turned out we COULD have just gone to reception, so in the end we checked in 2.5 times and paid twice. The second payment was refunded but that is still poor.
Reception staff told us nothing, not where/when breakfast was, not how to access the gym, and then not the nice things most hotels do like circle on the map where the hotel is and where the main tourist spots are.
Of the 4 days we stayed breakfast was available once. There was a note in the lift and on the breakfast room door on 1 day but not the others, we were not advised where we could go close by to get anything, there was no apology. We were told the hotel was fully booked so not offering breakfast seems poor across the board.
Room was supposed to be soundproof but we could hear people in the room next door and in the corridor.
One of the bedroom lights didn't work.
Housekeeping came once, which is fine, but we only had 2 coffee pods for 2 people and 4 days stay. We have to ask for more twice.
We had to ask for a kettle, one is clearly shown on your site and Hotels.com, put on listing "at request" as with iron and I'd not mind, but having to go to reception time and time again just gets boring and shows there are simple things just not being thought of.
The digital card never worked for either or us, why offer that if they don't work. The plastic cards stopped working even when we kept them away from anything else that may interfere with them.
In the 'guest' toilet there were bugs all the time, no idea how they got in but it just made it feel grubby.
