Birthday Visit

The host was really friendly on our arrival. The room was clean and tidy. There was a great view of the castle from the garden and of the river from the bedroom window. Breakfast was really nice. Located 15 minute walk to the centre at a leisurely pace. Thoroughly recommend this guesthouse.

Horrible experience with host.

We arrived around 9 pm due massive traffic at Dover port.We let know about this our host and kept updated her with an approx arrival time. Despite this on our arrival Maria, who lives next door,was quite rude to us. We asked her where we could buy some water and food as we were starving. How big our surprise was when she said she doesn't know!! Person who lives there for the last 20 years!! We thought ok, we should have some water in the room. But NO, there was nothing.
We are travelling a lot and this is only place where host doesn't greet the gests. At least some water Maria you can afford to buy!!
In the morning her attitude was the same. Around 9am I took one of our bags to the car .Maria saw me and shouted that we have to hurry up if we want to have some breakfast. Really?? Breakfast is till 10 am!!
9.20 am there was nothing much to eat we even had to ask some hot water to make a tea!!
There is only a few rooms in a house and host knows very well how many guests she got so this is easy to count how much food needed for breakfast, expecially she serving continental breakfast.
Also, would like to mention about bedding!! Horrible cheap polyester.
Cotton, white bedding doesn't cost a fortune Maria!!
Towels in a bathroom should be a white and in a goodcondition !
Finally, she didn't spoil my day but my husband's day definitely. He never asked me to leave a review but this time he said we MUST do it as her attitude wasn't right!!

Great stay in Cochem!

We spent 2 nights here and it was a great place to stay and explore Cochem. The room was bright and still quit cool (35C outside). It takes about 10/15 minutes walking to the town. The free parking place for guests is a really big plus! The breakfast was also good, fresh bread, homemade jam, coffee/tea/juice, boiled eggs and some yoghurt options. Would definitely stay here again.

Tour of Germany

Situated approximately 1 kilometre from Cochem, not a problem if you don't mind walking. The room was clean and although you had your own toilet and shower facility it was not en suite and was situated across a corridor from the room. Also the toilet and shower was very small, my wife is slim and struggled for room as for me no chance, I couldn't stand at the sick without falling backwards in to the shower space. On a positive the host was very pleasant and breakfast was plentiful.

Top Preis Leistungsverhältnis! Zentrale Lage & nette Gastgeberin

Wir haben uns in der Pension Thies sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Betten sind sehr bequem, die Lage perfekt für einen Aufenthalt in Cochem. Ein kleiner Fußweg von ca 5-10 Minuten bis in den Ort. Das Frühstück war klein , aber fein. Wir kommen gerne wieder !
