Short break in the Harz

As a family, we spent a relaxing short break at the Hotel zum Harzer. All the staff were very friendly. The room was very comfortable, clean and large and the breakfast was delicious and regional. Right next door, the mining museum is a great way to keep the children entertained when it's raining. We'll be back

Nice people and amazing food
It is impossible to sleep as you can hear every foot step from the rooms next door. Every word and toilet trip. 1am before I could sleep all the ear plugs in the world wouldn't help.
If you are going to stay up late and enjoy the food then great place to stay
If like me, you want to sleep so you are rested to go hiking, book another hotel.

Small hotel in a small town

It is a small hotel in a smal town so don´t expect anything fancy. The building itself is wooden so you will wake up when someone else wakes up. The bed is OK, but the blanket was quite small, luckily I am not a huge person.
Ameneties are fine so all-in-all it was a good stay. Breakfast is small but don´t be afraid to ask for eggs etc.
The biggest plus is the sauna, a huge plus in my mind, beatiful new sauna with a very relaxing vibe!

Too expensive for what you get

Big nicely decorated room with a great bed, but very noisy. You hear everything they say in the hallway. That is, with the door closed, and that is not so pleasant especially not at night when a group of drinking Dutchmen passes by. They were there again at breakfast and that was not nice either. Incidentally, the breakfast was not as good and extensive as at other locations in this area. Nice building from the outside, but with defects on the inside and you really pay too much for this.
