Dirty with bad customer service.
Not sure how long it’s been since the corners of the rooms were vacuumed. Toddler socks picked up a bunch of dead skin from previous travelers. I work in hotels and I’ve never seen such dirty corners. I tried to get ready by their convenient room mirror and was disgusted by the dirt on my clothes picked up from the floor. Seems like everything keeps getting swept off to the sides, no vacuuming involved. The walls have air wall gaps between each other, weird to have openings. Hallways are loud and you can hear everything. Not something we wanted after traveling internationally all day and needed rest with a toddler.
Request a lower floor. I had to finalize some work/trip things and I paid extra for my internet service with my carrier prior to my trip. I’ve done this on numerous trips to Germany and Croatia with no issues, however this property had bad tower connectivity and we attempted to connect to their Wi-Fi. Connection seemed to only work in the lobby / possibly 2nd floor highest. Our connection was non existent on the higher floor. I asked to be moved and the desk lady told me they were sold out, but I checked their website and they had rooms. I called her out on it and she just kept saying we can’t do nothing and that they restarted the router. It’s definitely an ongoing issue, they could care less to fix the problem. Thankfully we only stayed one night as we were leaving to Hamburg and coming back to Berlin to visit more family and stayed in a nice Airbnb for the week. We come back every 2 years and I would never stay at this property again. Probably the most plain, dirty and worst customer service hotel I’ve stayed at. Btw you may need to wait for the staff to finish their repeat smoke breaks before getting some help. Joke of a place. They are next to a large, loud in the early morning, construction site. I guess that is the business that keeps their property afloat since they have steady construction travel base and they could care less to show decent customer service to new travelers / English speaking customers who by the way lived in Germany for 5 years and could understand the conversations about them in the lobby.
I have 10+ years of Hilton and 6+ years of Marriott experience and this place was a joke.
