Fraudulent business practices and hygienic malpractice at Hotel-Pension Spree

To the competent authority,
I hereby wish to inform you anonymously about unacceptable conditions in the Hotel-Pension Spree (Kaiserdamm 19, 14057 Berlin). As a guest, I have found the following violations that urgently require official scrutiny:
Price manipulation: The hotel does not adhere to agreed booking prices. Arbitrary surcharges of 10-15 euros are required daily from guests. In some cases, double the original price is extorted at the end.
Hygiene deficiencies: The rooms are in an extremely unsanitary condition. There is no cleaning, which poses a health risk to guests.
Rip-off for basic needs: Basic toiletries such as toilet paper are sold to guests for an additional fee. This is contrary to any hotel standards in Germany.
Since I fear reprisals from the operator, I want to remain anonymous. However, in the interests of consumer protection and public health, I would ask you to inspect this property immediately and without notice.

Value for money in order, simple accommodation without frills

Simple overnight stay in the heart of City West, retro décor. I found the deposit that must be deposited for the room irritating.
Otherwise quiet location. The thin plaster walls to the neighboring rooms provided appropriate entertainment.

Worst hostel I've ever been to. If you have a chance to go to another, go. I went with some friends and they made up that we smoked in the room to take away the 150 euro bond. Very nice staff and very old rooms, you hear everything.

Worst thing I've ever seen in my life.

Strong warning: The pension is a prime example of dirt and abuse. The receptionist is extremely unfriendly and has bad manners. The pension is pitch dark, and the room smells disgusting. The beds are broken, and the duvets are disgusting and useless. I strongly advise against even thinking about staying in this guesthouse, even if it is free.

pathetic.. not recommended at all!

I originally booked this hotel but canceled after reading many bad reviews. Shortly after, I received a threatening message from the hotel stating that if the reservation was used for visa purposes, they would report the cancellation to border authorities. Shockingly, they actually followed through.
When I arrived in Berlin, We were extensively questioned by border police. This has never happened to us before—even though this was our 6th trip to a Schengen country and our 3rd time visiting Berlin. It was clear something had been flagged, and it was an incredibly stressful and humiliating experience.
Imagine how pathetic it is for a hotel to go to such lengths over a cancellation. If they spent even half as much effort on improving their service and treating guests properly, they wouldn’t have so many terrible reviews in the first place.
I ended up booking a much better hotel and had a smooth experience there. I strongly advise everyone—especially those applying for a visa or traveling for official reasons—to stay far away from this hotel.
