Hotel Morgenland--Good value Outside of Central Berlin

Great stay at Morgenland Hotel in Lichterfelde, Berlin. Nice room, excellent housekeeping, great breakfasts (extra charge), and they stored some of our luggage at no charge for a week while we took a side trip, then returned to Hotel Morgenland for an additional stay. The front desk could not have been more helpful. Excellent bus service was close by, and two great restaurants (Italian and Greek) were within walking distance. Do not expect A/C, but we did not require it. Good value for money, but Hotel Morgenland is in a quiet neighborhood not close to central Berlin, but easily accessible by using Berlin's excellent transport system. Use the day-pass transport card.

Unconditional recommendation

Why I award five points:
1. Communication was at all levels (email contact, phone calls and personal reception) were very friendly, helpful and exceedingly customer oriented.
2. The outside area and the entrance hall with stairwell were well maintained and so clean it smelled: namely of nothing.
3. The gentleman at the reception immediately asked if my room was ready. This enabled me to freshen up at 11:30 a.m. (after train and bus ride at 26 °C) and change for a celebration.
4. The room is small but bright and tastefully decorated. You could easily stay in it or work at your desk, for example. It has a "French balcony" (behind two-leaf floor-to-ceiling windows). All windows have a shading pleat.
5. The toilet with shower is completely sufficient. There's even a make-up mirror and a hair dryer. Shower and hand washing products are available.
6. In the relatively wide bed (1 m?) you can sleep very comfortably on a medium hard mattress.
7. Last but not least: Everything was very clean!!!
By the way: Buses are in the immediate vicinity; i.a. Objective: Lichterfelde Ost station for regional and suburban trains.

A great place to stay, quiet and nestled within a small green park. The room was spacious and clean. The reception staff were friendly and helpful, providing excellent service.

Out and about with friends

The hotel is located in a side street
and is very quiet if the room faces the back courtyard.
The hotel and the rooms are
clean. The breakfast buffet offers everything you need for a good breakfast. The staff is nice and friendly.
All in all, recommended.
