SUPER RECOMMENDED HOTEL

Hotel located in a fantastic place! Close to Alexanderplatz (although the most convenient metro is Klosterstr.) Clean and perfect room for a family holiday of 4 people (2 adults and 2 children). Hearty sweet and savory breakfast ... Baggage left on arrival than on departure in the dedicated room at ZERO cost.
All the receptionists we had to deal with were a bit 'listless' except for one guy on duty on Easter Sunday afternoon ... TOP!!!

Our room was not cleaned when we expected on 2 occasions and it wasn’t until then it was explained there was a QR code to request it. The staff dealing with this were sullen and unhelpful but when we raised it with the management we got an apology and a promise to follow up with staff training.
Otherwise the room was a good standard, the location was excellent, near shops and train stations. I’d asked about breakfast in advance but no one ever replied so I don’t know if it’s available or not as no one asked if we wanted it on arrival.

Unfortunately, the room we were given had bedbugs which we discovered at midnight. With no overnight front desk staff on premises, we were stuck in the room and spent a sleepless night trying to mitigate our exposure and to avoid becoming vectors for the insects for our other destinations (Berlin was the first stop on a multi-city vacation).
We did write an email to the manager and sent pictures, plus we did notify staff the following morning. Manager’s response was empathetic and offered recommendations on how to clean clothes and belongings. The experience of this type was a first for us and was an unsettling start to our journey. Fellow travelers, we hope you can avoid similar circumstances on your trips.

Superb place for the price. Good location, minutes from the U-Bahn and S-Bahn. Easy to walk to Museum Island.
A great place for our stay where the intention was to explore Central Berlin and have somewhere nice to return to and sleep.
