(Almost) Absolutely recommended
The beautiful exterior would be nothing, however, without the attentive service. The atmosphere is almost intimate due to the few rooms. The kitchen makes an effort: During our visit, the menu was reduced to a set meal with several combination options. This allowed for a daily changing selection with quality instead of pages of mediocrity. The breakfast, however, could be a little more generous and varied.
Another – not entirely serious – objection concerns the library, which seems to be sorted at random: D.H. Lawrence is next to a certain Barbara Noack and poor Fontane next to Erica Jong. I would gladly sacrifice an afternoon for a dinner for two to bring some order to the matter…
PS: The woman by my side finds this note stuffy. She is certainly right, as always.

The finest in a long time.Exceptionally beautiful spot of earth. Absolutely fantastic staff. Authentically!
A team with a palpable passion. Working together and are in a very good mood. Everybody!
Lots of parking.
For classic motorhomes as well.
A bit remote with plenty of peace. Nice villagers.

Nice location, insanely rude staff.
We don't know how it is possible to respond to the guests absolutely maliciously with every sentence.
This gentleman in Service was the unkindness in person and in our opinion absolutely missed his profession. Patty answers or requests were commonplace with him. In the end he even made videos of us celebrating with the live band. Minutes pber minute he filmed us. Extremely unprofessional.
There was no vegetarian alternative to fish - some of us, including a nursing mother, had to do without a main course. The food was average. Breakfast was not really followed up.

Quiet surroundings, relaxing atmosphere
We received a warm welcome and were offered a cup of coffee, after which we were told the history of the castle. Very interesting to know a little about the background of the place.
We had a lovely two night stay. Good and varied breakfast.
Sunday and Monday were "rest days", which is why the hotel was without staff in the late afternoon and evening. Therefore, we did not get the opportunity to use the restaurant either.
