Quality family hotel

Several years we come to this establishment and there is nothing to complain about: pleasant welcome, easy access, very close to the slopes (still count a maximum of 2 minutes walking slowly), clean and recently redone rooms, quality breakfast. Maybe a downside: no scrambled eggs or omelette in the morning... Otherwise, everything is very thank you! One of the last family-run hotels in the resort.

Very pleasant stay

3rd stay at the Hotel La Galise. What a pleasure to stay in a clean, well-kept, well-placed hotel where one is welcomed in a friendly and warm manner. Bravo to resist the rising price movement of Val d'Isère and stay authentic. It's a pleasure to come home.

Really bad service!!!

We had a terrible experience!
The service were really bad. The people in the reception didn’t say hello. The cleaning at our room was really bad. I put the towells on the floor to get them changed, when we came back they had clean the room and hang up the same dirty towells!
The beakfast was really poor!!
We stayed on the third floor, whitout any elevator…… I Will never come back to this hotel!

Dear Mrs & Mr HEDBLOM,
We are sorry to read that you did not enjoy your stay with us.
Having received two comments from you and your partner, I will only make one reply but will publish it on both of your reviews.
I still allow myself to give my version of the story, because as we know there are always two sides to a coin...
Concerning the towels, it is true that they had not been changed that day and you told me about it personally. On this fact, I apologized to you and went to change them as soon as you left for your evening.
When you talk about dirty towels, I still want to point out that they had been changed the day before.
You find our breakfast limited and it's true that we prefer to put quality, fresh, artisanal and local products rather than favoring quantity in terms of choice.
We offer various breads, pastries, fruit, fresh fruit salad, yoghurts, cottage cheeses, compotes, cold cuts, cheeses, cereals, dried fruit, daily homemade cake, an egg machine, a toaster, ...
We don't have an elevator, it's true, but we don't hide this information.
You have chosen to book an attic room which is our economical rooms because it is located under the roof and therefore on the top floor of our establishment.
Your partner explains in her comment left a few minutes before yours that we don't say hello, it's true that we didn't do it in your language "Swedish" but did it in French and English every day but never received a response from you.
We do not have a car park at the hotel, only a space front of our establishment that allows you to load/unload your lugages.
Then we offer all our customers the opportunity to book a space for them in one of the resort's public car parks, we do not charge any extra for this service, only the amount of the desired car park.
When you made your reservation on 2/10/2024, we informed you of this possibility without any response from you before 3/02/2025, so we explained that the only car park that was available during the French and English school holidays was the "Cret P3" which is indeed a 20-minute walk away but is served by a free shuttle bus every 5 minutes from 8 a.m. to 6:15 p.m. and then every 20 minutes to 2:15am. The stop for this shuttle is at 100m from La Galise, at the round about of the tourism office.
When you arrive at the hotel, you will have received a QR Code necessary for your entry to the car park, provided by the company SAGS which owns all the public car parks in Val d'Isère.
You apparently had a problem at your entrance, which is independent of us, but you preferred to take a ticket rather than call the emergency service of the car park (who would have opened the barrier for you after showing them the QR Code).
In truth we have already had this kind of problem with other customers who have reported the incident to us the next day, in this case we can have the ticket cancelled by the Public car park.
You waited to pay for the second ticket you took on arrival on the day of departure and to explain this incident to us at the time of your check-out.
So we called the car park to ask if they could refund your ticket's payment or cancel our booking made for you, their answer was negative.
However, as we are also charged by the SAGS company following your duplicate, we explained to you that we also charge you the rate of 120€ (price for your week at Cret P3), despite your threats of bad comments from you and your wife ...
Fortunately there is still a positive point following your remarks, I am delighted to read that you will no longer come to stay in our establishment because I prefer to receive pleasant customers and happy to be on vacation.
Kind regards,

Unfriendly

The Hotel personell is not very friendly, service minded or helpful. The breakfast is extremely limited and the cleaning of the room was really not good. No elevator, so a lot of walking in stairs. For us coming by car the parking the hotell arranged was more than 20 minute walk. We booked the parking through the hotel, but the QR code they provided didn’t work, ending up we had to pay double for the parking as the hotel also charged for parking, an extra 120 €…
To sum up, we want come back to this hotel ever again and I can’t recommend anyone to stay there.

Lovely hotel in an amazing location in Val D’Isere!

Lovely hotel, really cosy and homely, friendly and in an amazing location so close to the slopes. There is a bar as part of the hotel which is great, the breakfast was simple but lovely and all in all we would recommend this hotel! The boot room was great and the rooms were a good temperature for us
