A superb discovery just 10 minutes from home!
This castle is magnificent.
You discover many different rooms.
The view is magnificent and relaxing.
The owners are so pleasant and passionate.
We highly recommend it.

A rare chance to experience life as an aristocrat in 17th century France.

Arrived at this historic chateau to be greeted by the count and his family. He arranged for us to have a magnificent sitting room and bedroom with terrace in one corner of the chateau. Rooms furnished (except for beds and bathrooms) with original furniture and paintings from the 15th and 16th century. Met the few other guests in the sitting room with wifi and a roaring fire. We were in the 17th century experiencing chateau life, amazing. We went out for dinner to a nearby town (9kms) but the other guests had a big lunch and just hung out with appetizers they bought and wine. Breakfast was perfect and the very gracious count gave us a tour and explanation of chateau and family history after breakfast, fascinating. We loved our visit and highly recommend a visit.

A very special historic place to stay

We had a delightful welcome from the owner at the front door of this beautiful 15th century chateau. The rooms were delightful filled with lovely antiques and family heirlooms. The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms well appointed. It was a real privilege to stay in such a historic place. We had a lovely breakfast in one of the rooms off the courtyard and then were guided on a walk through the pretty woods by one of the chateau’s friendly dogs. It’s a truly special place to stay, having been in the same family for centuries, and I would love to return.

A magnificent and exciting visit

We only visited the castle of Ternay without staying there because we live in Anjou and we had joined the VMF for a discovery of Loudunais on a day: fascinating visit of this beautiful house. Thanks to the property owner who made us discover with his casual style and humor this magnificent castle, especially the inner courtyard and chapel which are remarkable. Thank you very much Sir, you are an excellent teacher and we had a great time in Ternay
