A May visit

We had the most idyllic stay here. As every review mentions Richard and Jasmine are the perfect hosts. The first thing when arriving for the the first time is the smell of the flowers. They have created the most stunning of gardens in the front and rear of the house. It's not a huge property with five bedrooms one suite and a duplex which is where we chose to spend our 9 day stay. It has a small kitchen/sofa/table/toilet on ground level and above floor is the bedroom and shower. The air conditioning is very good and well needed as we hit a mini heatwave in late May with temperatures in mid 30's for a couple of days. We usually decline breakfast whilst away on holiday as we enjoy a long lunch and indulgent supper but we made the mistake on the first day of seeing what was on offer. Set up in the kitchen is the most delicious fare. Of course fresh baguette, croissant, pain au chocolate etc but homemade jams and honey. Richards excellent apple, almond or cherry tarts. Lovely light omelettes. Perfectly ripe fruits including the best cherries I ever had and delicious local melon. Cheese and good saucisson. Needless to say we had breakfast every day. Small presents of pieces of tart were often brought to you or left in your room. We naturally put on a few pounds whilst there!
A mere 30 yds from the house is a lovely pool with padded loungers and a handy shaded area that we spent most of our time enjoying (do watch your head though on the frame, you learn to duck down a little after a couple of times!) The pool is heated to a perfect temperature and so refreshing. It also is a  decent depth.
There are good restaurants a 10 minute walk away and 2 bakeries, a butcher and 2 grocery stores. I have reviewed them on TA if interested. Within 20 mins there are numerous excellent restaurants also. I can't recommend Bastide Saint Didier more highly and we cannot wait to return.
Also loved a little stroke of their resident cat Minou!

A lovely, relaxing break in Provence

We've just spent a lovely 5 nights at Bastide Saint Didier. Richard and Jasmine are very warm and friendly hosts and they've created a wonderful place for a quiet and relaxing Provence holiday. The beautiful, vibrant garden is a particular highlight with a lovely pool (towels provided) nestled amongst the olive trees, lavender, rosemary and other lush greenery. Breakfasts were delicious, including homemade cakes, fresh fruit, local cheese and pastries from the local boulangerie. We also really appreciated the guest kitchen which allowed us to store and prepare food (and wine) from the local market and shops for an easy "staying-in" meal option.
Our room was great - spacious with a high timber-beamed ceiling. A window gave a framed view of Mont Ventoux and double door with a juliette balcony gave views over the garden.
The location on the edge of Saint Didier was perfect for us - an easy walk into the village (where a market takes place on Monday mornings) but surrounded by open fields and vineyards. Overall it's a lovely base to explore this part of Provence - plenty of beautiful villages within easy reach. Also a great location if you like cycling - I did a fantastic ride through the dramatic Gorges de la Nesque. There is lots of useful information about places to visit and things to do on the Bastide Saint Didier website, and Richard & Jasmine are very happy to answer questions and make suggestions if asked.
Overall, a fantastic place to stay. Highly recommended

amazing corner of Provence.

There are places that become not just part of the journey, but its main memory. For us, this amazing corner of Provence has become such a place.
Here you feel not like a hotel guest, but a person who has come to a cozy country house where every detail is created with love. The grounds are beautiful: roses under windows, flowering gardens, vineyards, apple trees, slender cypress trees and an endless Provence sea of lavender around. Our room had a wonderful view of the rose garden and the rooms were very cosy and comfortable. The kettle and coffee machine created an extra sense of home and leisure.
The pool deserves some words of admiration. In the early hours of the morning there is peace and absolute calm. Meeting the dawn, watching the first rays of sunshine touch the garden and the water, meditating alone amidst this beauty - real happiness.
The breakfasts were magical. Fresh pastries, fragrant coffee and leisurely morning hours among the flowers created a mood that was to be maintained for a long time.
I would particularly like to mention the excellently equipped summer kitchen. It has everything you need: dishes, appliances, a microwave and a lot of useful change. After trips around the area, we bought fresh oysters and champagne, cooked a light dinner and spent the evenings under the vineyard with a glass of wine, enjoying the peace and beauty of the garden. Comfortable lounge chairs are provided for relaxation, where you can read a book or simply admire the surrounding landscape.
The location was also very successful. Just ten minutes on foot are cozy restaurants, shops with everything you need and an ancient castle. A large hypermarket is located ten minutes away. It is also a great starting point for exploring Provence: there are many picturesque towns and villages around that you want to explore over and over again.
But the most amazing thing is that although the neighborhood is full of beauty and interesting places, one day we wanted to stay away. Just stay here, amid the garden, flowers, vineyards and silence, enjoying the atmosphere of this little paradise.
Special thanks to Richard and Jasmine. Their hospitality, kindness and willingness to help with any matter made our holiday even more comfortable. I particularly want to acknowledge Richard's great work in rebuilding the house and creating the garden. You can see how much love, energy and time has been invested in this place. This has made it a true oasis of harmony and beauty.
We've only been here four nights, and it's been too little. They left with genuine regret and one thought: one day it is mandatory to return again.
Thank you for your memorable days in the heart of Provence. This place will always be remembered. ❤️

Bastide Saint-Didier, a real pearl in Provence!

This is simply a fantastic place! The house is beautifully restored and now stands as a real pearl in the middle of Provence and just outside the very nice little town of Saint-Didier. The town itself full of life. Here you will find nice restaurants and fine possibilities to buy groceries.
Back to the house, where we (2 adults) stayed for 5 nights. The rooms are very nice. There is all you need. Large beds, fine bathrooms. And all rooms made with a personal and well thought touch. Perfect.
The breakfast is served in the kitchen and you sit outside under the grapes in a fine and shadowed area. The breakfast containes all you need and crave for. And the hosts are there to help you with coffee, tea and eggs. All very nice!
The garden - WOW! Everywhere you look you will find a small corner with beautiful flowers. There are herbs all over the place. Shadow you will find in many areas of the garden. And you actually don’t want to go anywhere but to stay here.
There is also a big swimmingpool and the area around it contains sunbeds and a fridge with cold water to drink.
The garden also have a “outside kitchen” for the guests where you can prepare lighter and cold meals. We did that a couple of times. Very nice just to sit in the garden and enjoy your late evening meal.
But, the real stars of this wonderful place are the hosts - Richard and Jasmine. This beautiful couple simply makes you feel so welcome. They spend a lot of time making you feel at home and that is exactly what you feel. At home, yet far away! We don’t think that we have ever met more kind and serviceminded hosts than Richard and Jasmine. So very helpful and eager to make you feel comfortable. And they love to tell you about the area and what to see. We followed some of Richards recommendations for sights and we were not disappointed. There are many wonderful places to go in the neighborhood. All rather close by so you can see a lot of beautiful places in one day.
We highly recommend this place - actually the highest recommendation is, that we will come back - soon! That is for sure!

More than beautiful

We had a wonderful stay at Bastide Saint Didier. It is such a beautiful and peaceful place, and Richard and Jasmine are incredibly welcoming hosts who truly care about their guests.
The breakfast was outstanding: fresh bread every morning, a different homemade cake each day, and many other delicious treats, all enjoyed under the pergola in the morning sun. What more could you ask for?
Thank you, Richard and Jasmine, for making our stay so special. We will definitely cherish the wonderful memories of our time at Bastide Saint Didier.
