3 night stay
Another site abundant with trees. Quite private areas. Probably not ideal if you were looking to put a stand alone awning up. The local village isn't far, but the hill the site is on is a serious uphill walk back! The bus stops just outside the site. You can now tap on and off the bus. If you use the bus stops on Google maps, it supplies all the timetables. Staff very friendly. However the shower controls aren't user friendly. Small temperature control valves don't lend themselves to wet/soapy hands. It might sound pithy, but not when scalding water is coming at you. Clermont Ferrand is a 2 bus ride, but only takes about 25 minutes total. Worth a visit, but we'd probably not be rushing back there. Lots of other stuff to visit if you don't mind driving out daily. Another site with very few insects about, maybe as it's April, though it was 22C

Poor service
First experience at Huttopia Royat and largely disappointed by the service offered by the campsite.
Campsites unusable because of the stones and holes. We had this glitch noted by management, which provided no solution.
Campsites available starting at 2:00 PM and must be vacated the next day by 12:00 PM without the possibility of using the campsite facilities.
Having come as a group with 10 children, we had to make them get out of the pool under an orange heatwave alert. Stated excuse: insurance problem. Erroneous explanation since the site manager offered for us to stay sitting on the terrace, apparently no insurance problem on her end for that... We could have thought of an arrangement because of the campsites but nothing
Unpleasant, incompetent staff, and incapable of answering any of our questions. The answers were always: “I don’t know, I’ll find out, I’ll get back to you”. No one ever got back to us.
Regarding the activities, there was no displayed dynamism, and when we wanted to book a superb beekeeping activity, we followed up 3 times to sign up before being rejected because it was too late, even though we had been told it was fine.

Les points que vous évoquez ne reflètent pas les retours de la grande majorité de notre clientèle. Au contraire, l'accueil, la réactivité et l'amabilité de notre équipe, figurent parmi les aspects les plus fréquemment salués par nos clients.
Nous rappelons également qu'en réservant un séjour dans notre camping, vous avez accepté nos conditions générales de vente. Celles-ci précisent que les arrivées en emplacement sont prévues à partir de 14 h et les départs jusqu'à 12 h. L'accès à nos prestations et à nos infrastructures est donc valable uniquement pendant la durée de votre séjour. Par ailleurs, il nous semble avoir fait un geste en vous autorisant l'accès à nos installations jusqu'à14 h, ce qui allait au-delà de ce que prévoyaient les conditions de votre réservation.
Nous souhaitons une très belle continuation à votre club,

Not enough for the price
It could be better. It is not a cheap camping. No wifi in the camping area, only at the bar !!!

Improvement / points of interest
Beautiful campsite, swimming pool and modern sanitary facilities.
Minder:
Danger of falling ugly from elevation at plumbing, sin gate where it suddenly stops and you dismount about half a meter. A woman needed an ambulance; shoulder ws broken...
After 7 pm no one at reception.
Also ditches along the road where there is no lighting.
Lots of potholes in the road.
No dishwashing opportunity (must be at plumbing, seems to me not so fresh, greasy and leftover food in the shallow sinks).
There is some improvement for the price...

Family vacation.
Clean and shaded campsite, close to Auvergne activities (hiking, thermal baths, museums...).
Welcoming staff and small activities friendly for families.
Small flat: swimming pool NOT HEATED as indicated on the site and mobile home with a lot of dust on the ground.
