Superb place

We were looking for a quiet place, we were not disappointed. Quiet and relaxing place, atypical room
You can find a very good restaurant there
The host and his team are top-notch

Nuances and drawbacks.

A beautiful residence in a beautiful park for walking and the view, comfortable rooms with almost historical furniture, and a warm welcome. Breakfast in the
winter garden is very pleasant.
The restaurant also looks good, the cuisine is sophisticated, the dishes are complex for a taste result that is only slightly average, but the service is beyond reproach.
And then a significant error in the bill total for which we are still awaiting a correction, despite two reminders. Was it a mistake? Is this how one manages a château?

Eccentric charm

It is a bit Basil Fawlty but it has so much character. Great atmosphere and delightful staff particularly Alban. The rooms are very comfortable definitely a bit 1970s but everything works and the views of the garden are beautiful. The swimming pool and seating area are good and there’s a nice terrace to have a drink on. Very good restaurant, delicious food and a good wine list. Interesting that many of the other guests staying at the same time as us had stayed here many times before loving the character and slightly eccentric management. It’s a happy place. We will definitely be back.

Disappointing……

Once you get past the hotel manager who is quite possibly the French version of Basil Fawlty, this is a pleasant stay. The gardens of the chateau are lovely and we had a good breakfast. We didn’t get to try the dinner because the manager put the fear of god in us in case we arrived a minute late, so we stopped in a service station enroute for a baguette instead. The rest of the staff were pleasant. Not the best start to a holiday. The room was okay but would advise to book one of their better rooms.

A magical place!

A beautiful place that we have been visiting regularly for over ten years, we have never been disappointed, the welcome is warm, Mr. Maupin and his staff spread good humor in this magnificent estate. The food is worthy of a Michelin-starred restaurant, the dishes are very sophisticated. What more can be said? The walk in the park with its centuries-old trees reflecting on the pond is a true enchantment and our pleasure continues at breakfast time among the birdsong, yes happiness has an address: the Château de Rigny!!!!!
