Great stay with a beautiful natural setting

Very good guest house. Splendid view, very pleasant swimming pool. Meals offered in the evening at a very good quality price. Breakfasts served with good homemade jams. Very friendly welcome, everything is there to have a good stay in a magnificent setting in absolute calm.

Never experienced such hospitality as David's, we will return next year, peace, hospitality and his delicious meals made it a perfect holiday. This surpasses every B&B, This should be a benchmark, Real Belgian hospitality, nothing too much to ask , Lunch when we went for a walk,

escape to the country

If you want total peace and quiet, make the pilgrimage to L’Evidence, hidden away down narrow country lanes (N-102, turn south onto D-19, turn south again onto D-223, through the tiny village of Prades, another kilometre and watch for the small sign to the B&B). It’s worth the effort. The peace may be temporarily shattered by the barking of the house’s enormous but ridiculously harmless Swiss farm-dog, but the rural peace soon settles in again. There’s a small but enjoyable pool to cool down in, the rooms are also cool but spacious and skilfully converted. At night the silence of the Ardèche woodland wraps itself around the house completely. Dinner is ten kilometres away in Aubenas (wide choice there) and a return drive through the lanes in the dark better avoided. Breakfast happens on the terrace, the lady of the house presenting a panoply of delectable home-made jams and yoghurts. A true escape to the country.

A little gem in the middle of Ardèche

I stayed a couple of nights in the Zermatt chalet and found it comfortable, well equipped and charming. I also visited the others rooms that are a very different style but just as nice.
The pool is situated very close by and offers a pretty and well groomed garden with plenty of sun loungers. It is the perfect place to rest after a long walk before supper.
I must absolutely mention supper. In my opinion the "pièce de résistance" of l'Évidence is clearly Christine and her meals. Be it with other guests or alone with her, you will be delighted with delicious french cuisine and interesting discussions. Her food is excellent but not over the top with complications. You immediately feel at home and confortable ... a perfect getaway. You also understand why so many regulars come back to visit.
L'Evidence is exactly what you would expect from a "chambre d'hôtes": Nice rooms, calm location, excellent food and good company!!

No complaints as usual

Great days again. Warm welcome and excellent food in a nice atmosphere. Cristine knows how to approach all her guests. Pool was heavenly again and the tip to visit Niegle was more than appreciated. Nice start of vacantion in France
