lovely!!

stayed here for a majority of my one week trip. stayed in room 605 the absolute cutest most chic little spot. beautiful view out the window. comfy big bed. quasi-mirrored ceiling. lively multicultural area right where you want to be. friendly staff. easy check in and check out. will be staying here again when i come back!

Genuine Hospitality and Exceptional Service

I really enjoyed my stay at Hôtel Château d’Eau. The hotel has great character, but it was the staff who really made my stay.
The front desk was always warm, helpful, and incredibly accommodating. Nothing ever seemed like too much trouble. The housekeeping team was equally wonderful—my room was always beautifully maintained, and the housekeepers were genuinely kind and professional.
Having spent many years in hospitality, I especially appreciate service that feels natural and sincere. That is what I found here.
A wonderful stay, and I would happily return. My sincere thanks to the front desk and housekeeping teams.

Great for solo travel

I came to Hotel Chateau D’eau on a solo trip. The area is lively, but I had a room the faced into a courtyard, not the street so I had no problem with noise. There’s lots of bars and restaurants on the street over (Saint Denis) that I rarely traveled far for a meal or drink. I usually casually walked into a bar/restaurant in the area finding a seat with no issues.
I booked myself a Superior room and this was a great size for 1-2 people. I had a medium check in luggage, and was able not to feel cramped in the hotel room. The bed was maybe the most comfortable I ever felt. The superior room has 2 twins side by side so it was similar to a US King size. More than enough for 1-2 people. The smaller rooms though might feel small especially if you have large luggage. Hotel rooms in Paris tend to be small which is why I booked the superior for myself.
The staff were also really helpful and excellent. Fluent in English. I had trouble with the uber app and French taxi app, and the front desk was able to help me book a flat rate taxi to CDG on the day of checkout.
There are reviews that mention the “sketchy area.” This area is not sketchy. It is close to a black neighborhood, and while businesses are open the community might be out on the sidewalk hanging out (especially if the weather is nice). Businesses in the area have a curfew (not bars and restaurants), so it’s actually more busy in the day than at night. It is no different than any other lively neighborhood in Paris. I had never felt unsafe or felt like there were people trying to pickpocket/panhandle me (you actually get that in high traffic tourist areas in Paris, and this is not that kind of area). I will say though I am male-presenting; a woman might have a different experience.
I would definitely stay at Hotel Chateau D’eau the next time I’m in Paris solo!

A new favourite hotel

The hotel was incredibly clean and chic. We were very impressed with the decor and all the staff were so friendly. The Diptique toiletries were a nice touch (and smelled amazing). We would love to come back someday!

Lovely room, clean, comfortable.
Reception friendly, helpful.
Air conditioning was great loved getting in from walking all day in the heat.
Area was livley, vibrant but also once in The room it was quiet and restfull. Highly recommend.
