Late minute booking five stars

Excellent little quirky hotel, right in the centre of Metz, found it in booking.com & booked it 10 mins before arriving. A fabulous welcome by the owner she couldn't do enough for us. Each room has a name not a number a really old building with lots of character. A good breakfast in the morning unlimited coffee. Not good if you have nobility problems as the stairs are the original wooden spiral & don't take too much luggage! A great stop over if travelling through France. Lovely shops all around & great choice of bars & restaurants all with walking of the hotel, 10/10 from me worth more than 2 stars.

Very good value for money, very warm welcome

For those who prefer the (slightly) old-fashioned charm of a city center hotel rather than the sanitized standard of an Ibis hotel. Nice welcome. Decent breakfast. Bedding ok. At the level of its two stars.

Good News. Bad News.

The good news, quaint small hotel in city centre. Clean room, comfortable beds, good nights sleep, helpful staff. The bad news, the city has a huge pedestrian precinct which is closed to vehicles at the weekend. This applies to ALL hotels not just the Centre, so if you arrive by car at the weekend the satnav will not guide you to the hotel. It took more than an hour to get to the address( the guests who followed us at check-in had the same frustrating experience). There is no lift so we had to carry our suitcases up four flights of steep stairs. More bad news, there are no tea/ coffee making facilities in the room, just when you need them the most. If you can tolerate all of this bad news, the room rates are reasonable.

Needs Help

Pleasant staff, but room was pretty disgusting. Old, dated, and dingy. Location was convenient, in the center of Metz. If location is important to you, and creature comforts in a room are if secondary importance, then maybe this is the hotel for you. Outside of hotel said thus wad a 2 star, but 1 star is closer to the description.

Good, clean, a bit noisy

Nice hotel in an historic building. We were three and had a big comfortable room, with a nice spacious bathroom. The receptionist was very friendly And helpful. The only issue was with the noise from the street throughout the night. We did stay on a Saturday night, so I am not sure if this is always an issue. No lift in the hotel, very nicely located ( it is in a pedestrianised street so you cannot drive there but you can find parking about two blocks away), close to the commercial district but also a short walk from the cathedral.
The hotel has an agreement with the big parking lot under the place de la republique , so that is where we parked.
