So Easy to Settle In & Relax
Château de Berne is a gorgeous property and was exactly what we needed after Paris, where our room felt like a shoebox. Our room here was spacious, beautiful, and incredibly comfortable. The bed was probably the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in on vacation. The location also makes side trips to places like Lorgues and Tourtour very easy (wineries!)
What went well:
The grounds are immaculate, the pool is fantastic, and the wine is excellent. The staff throughout the property were awesome, and the housekeeping team was especially fantastic. We were just very comfortable here.
The complimentary activities were a great touch. We played tennis and pétanque, and both genuinely added to the stay. We also took the cooking class, which was good and a fun experience.
Jardin de Berne was excellent, including the best soup I’ve ever had.
One thing that stood out was the overall atmosphere. Even the other guests were great. There’s something about Château de Berne that feels like a property run by good people that attracts good people.
What could be improved:
The Bistro could use a little more menu variety, particularly for guests staying several nights. The cooking class was enjoyable, but probably about an hour longer than it needed to be.
Bottom Line:
Beautiful property, exceptional staff, great food and wine, plenty to do, and one of the most comfortable hotel stays we’ve had. Château de Berne is the kind of place where it’s very easy to settle in and relax. We would absolutely return.

Gorgeous stay!
WOW what a gorgeous hotel. My boyfriend and I visited for one night on our South of France trip, and had a perfect stay. The entire property is mesmerizing, complete with every amenity you could want. We had a picnic lunch, complete with a picnic basket from the hotel (with a vegetarian sandwich for me - thank you!!), tour of the wine cellar with a tasting (Discover 3 Wines tour - perfection!), participated in the unforgettable eclipse wine tasting event, spent the day at their stunning pool, used the spa, visited the cozy bar (get the gin cucumber cocktail - WOW) and enjoyed a delicious breakfast. In a one night stay, the amazing concierge team was able to get us into so many activities, wish we had more time!
Our room was gorgeous, spacious and comfortable. Service at every stop was attentive, friendly and kind. Every staff member we interacted with made us feel so welcome.
If you’re visiting the region, you can’t miss this hotel! Cannot wait to return!

Excellent location and reputation - starting to feel like it needs some attention in the rooms and external areas

Basic problem, we not given the room we booked. Booked a Junior suite with uninterrupted views of vineyards and forest’ - we were given a ground floor room near the kitchen with view of a hedge.
Hotels.com description is vineyard views and hotel website for Junior suite is vineyard views.
When we asked for a change to correct room the staff were at first argumentative and dismissive then just said there’s nothing they can do. Even if they had offered a token compensation it would of soften the disappointment. One member of staff switched to French and made some poor comments about my wife not realising we both speak French. We challenge her and she said ‘I need to go to toilet’ and disappeared.
Overall this did spoil our experience. Feeling we dod not get what we paid for and a really bad customer service experience.
The hotel does have some great facilities and is in rural idyllic location.
Special mention for SOPHIE in the Spa, best massage my wife has ever had. Also VALENTINE in the bar.
