Perfect!

A small hotel in a 17th-century building. ==History=====External links== Our quite newly renovated room was equipped with fridge, kettle, coffee machine and bathrobes.
There's only one elevator.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Very good breakfast buffet.
For dinner, make sure to book at the restaurant l'Evidence, which is in the same building.

Quiet and comfortable

Our second stay in the same room and happy to say still the same good standards.
I reviewed the restaurant separately and it is excellent. The room was very comfortable . As a bonus I could charge my electric car. Very good breakfast -I really enjoyed the blackcurrant jam

Perfect Stopover on the banks of the Loire River

We were driving back from Blaye and heading to Strasbourg and we decided to stay in Digoin as a halfway stopover.
What a great surprise it was to arrive at Hotel Villa Pona. The building is a beautifully restored stone complex.
Our room was lovely with a very spacious bathroom and a very comfortable bed overlooking the Loire River.
The staff were very welcoming and showed us our room and explained how the hotel worked.
We booked for dinner at the restaurant L'Evidence which is in the same Villa Pona Hotel. It has two Chefs Hats as rated by Gault & Millau.
The evening meal was excellent in a well set up dining room with lots of ambiance.
We had breakfast the next morning and it was excellent. Beautiful fresh bread ( gluten free as well), baguettes, local yoghurt, freshly squizzed orange juice, jams, a plate of cheese and ham/slamai and of course coffee.
We will definitely stay at Villa pona again when travelling in that area.
It was a great place to relax after a long drive.

Excellent

We have been using this hotel for years to spend the night on the way to the Atlantic and are very satisfied. The best breakfast in France, sometimes you can have dinner on the riverbank, the rooms are newly renovated, clean and sufficient for our purpose.

Excellent whole experience for our family with 4 kids. Very comfortable beds, great service, delicious breakfast !! We had a great stay.
