Well worth a detour
Very warm welcome, spacious comfortable rooms, very quiet.
Very pleasant meal and breakfast. The owners of the premises were attentive, discreet and pleasant people open to sharing their experience. We recommend without hesitation.

Step back in time
This beautiful old castle has been back breakingly restored by Anne & her family after she apparently bought it on first sight from the road! Have a look at the photos & you will appreciate how far this has come in the last 14 years, simply amazing.
Anyway, that is just the half of it, the family are wonderful but not overbearing hosts which suited us perfectly. Some days we went mushroom picking in the forest with them, some days we shared meals, other days we lounged about by ourselves in what felt like "our" castle & grounds.

Utterly amazing and unforgettable
Exceptional, extraordinary, fantastic, amazing, stunning, lovely, remarkable, outstanding...
I could go on but I would only be scratching the surface, and it still wouldn't begin to describe how truly special this château is. If I could I would give it a rating of 11 out of 5. The house, it's history, the grounds, and the proprietors and their family all combined to make this a magical and unforgettable experience. Having to describe that experience in words seems to somehow diminish it, as words alone cannot adequately relate how my friends and I felt by the end of our one night visit. We are all counting the days before we can come back and visit again.
I travelled to Château de Bessonies with my partner and two close friends on the return trip from a very long and tiring road trip from the UK through France, to northern Spain. As soon as we arrived we all knew we had stumbled across something very special. As the château came in to view, everyone was filled with energy and excitement. Within seconds of entering the grounds we were nearly weeping with joy. The house and its grounds are heart achingly beautiful and serene, and exude the love and passion that have been poured in to them by the proprietors Anne and Greg during their 10+ year project to renovate and restore a wonderful home. If you are lucky enough to stay here Anne and Greg extend that love and passion to your stay with open arms through incredible home cooked food and locally sourced wine; adorable and wonderfully comfortable accommodation; great conversation; and by making you feel like part of their family.
I could continue to gush about our visit, but I'll stop here and strongly recommend that you travel to Château de Bessonies and experience the magic for yourselves.
To Anne, Gregg, and their family my friends and I extend our deepest thanks and gratitude and our love for providing us with the opportunity to experience a small slice of perfection.

Delightful experience!
My stay in this veritable French Chateau was fantastic -- a fairyland experience. The ambiance and the coziness of being surrounded by elegant French antiques was a dream. The owner is a most interesting and charming lady. The surounding countryside is truly lovely. Its nearness to Figeac and Rocamadour is definitely a plus. I am ready to return in the future!

Umwerfend! Marvellous!
I had the pleasure to be a guest in this chateau for a dinner in May 2012. In an ideal landscape, this perfectly renovated chateau is truly breathtaking. The landlord-lady is warmhearted and makes your stay unforgettable. Inside you find spacious rooms & original decoration all over the place. I will truly travel there again.
