Excellent location, very nice staff
I just stay (for now 1 day) and I was amazing.. Ali the recepcionist it's really good guy and I talk whit Ahmed (the owner) a little bit He is a reliable and pleasant person. I suggest that if you plan to stay a few days here in Cairo you can choose this hostel without a doubt. Very nice and clean, and the beds are very comfortable. I will probably come back

Never come again!!!! Scammerszero rate
I used to come to this hostel since years ago and I stayed for a long time ..The staff was good and the management was good too the last year but this time after the management has been changed, everything is absolutely horrible stayed for a long time ..The staff was good and the management was good too the last year but this time after the management has been changed, everything is absolutely horrible
Firstly, I came to book one night even it was few hours and it was no problem to me to pay for the price for a whole night which is 200 egy ..When I entered to the room, it was absolute mess and very dirty , even the bed sheet and the pillow..It looked like a prison ..It was never like this before ..I had to go for my work and my work has not been done in Cairo that's why I had to come
.. again ..The next time was even more horrible..I have arrived in the morning early and I found another receptionist..I wanted to book in the dormitory room as the first time ..The receptionist said that the female dormitory is full of some guys who sleep in it now and h ..I have been shocked cause it is girls room..later, he tried to scam me to pay around 500 egy for another room and it was even a few hours to stay ..After few minutes a young boy came out from the female dormitory with 21years and he asked me about the Receptionist where he is gone,saying that he is the owner of the place in a very arrogant way .. I have discovered that the Receptionist was lying to me , because he was trying to convince me with the double room with a higher price ..Later, Hesham., The boy with 21 age tried to scam me to pay 300 egy for a dirty bed in the dormitory after refusing to pay 500 egy for the double room because the check in is at 12 and I came earlier ..At the beginning the receptionist told me in a gentle way that it's okay to leave my luggage in the reception with no paying for leaving my luggage for few hours ..and also I told Hesham that I will go and then I will back to see if I can book or not and it was no problem at the beginning ..When I came back , there's a girl in the reception stopped me from taking my luggage to talk to Hesham and I didn't understand why and I was in a hurry to go to the station to travel and they didn't appreciate my situation..I could loose my ticket because of these kids and that Hisham tried to make me pay 100 egy for leaving my luggage ..I was cause why I should pay 100 egy for leaving my small luggage and I had my car which is in the park away from the hostel but the receptionist offered to just leave it and Hisham did not mention that I have to pay for my luggage..He was very rude with me and said "Go mama " !!!!! I don't understand what kind of these kids who could mange a hostel ..I used to leave my luggage even for months and then I come back to take it with all respect from the receptionists and the managers ..If they say from the beginning that I have to pay for it , then I would ..It really looked like a kindergarten with a lot of scammers..I used to love this hostel the last years ..but now I will never come back again please be careful of the

You get what you pay for
Plenty of pros and cons for this place. Considering I paid 10 Euros per night for a private with private bathroom I'd say for Egyptian standards it was soso OK.
Pros:
- Location. If it has to be downtown ( and I do NOT recommend downtown, stay out at the pyramids and take a day tour to the city center! So much nicer out there!) the location is convenient and actually not as noisy as it could be as it is off a side street and not on the main road. Area is currently intensely renovated and could soon be one of the nicest corners east of the Nile..
- Nice staff
- Very comfortable bed with warm duvet (was in February and it did get fresh at night).
- Nice room size
- Aircon in summer is available
Neutral:
- cleanliness, well, it's Egypt
- no towels or soap included. I think this is OK for the price but it should be clearly advertised
Negative:
- filthy building
- windows are broken and let in all kinds of noise and cold air at night.
- very little warm water in the bathroom, hardly enough for a shower

Whatever you do avoid at all costs
Worst hostel i ever tried in my whole life ,my flight arrived from Canada approximately 2 pm ,by the time I made it to Hostel it was about 4:30 upon checking in and getting myself settled in ,I went in to take a shower, only to find out there is no hot water comes out but rather cold water. Reported issue to hostel and advised me to try again .after many attempts to actually take a shower after 12 hour flight to Egypt,they finally decided to admit flat they got issues with water n no hot water is available bad experience doesn't stop there... water pressure was so low to the point where I could not rinse completely when brushing until I poured water from my mineral water bottle to be able to rinse fully .hotel failed to even do anything or even try to apologize. I basically paid for a room with shower however I got a room only with no shower facilities. As a solo Canadian traveller ,my advice to u is to never stay at this hostel

Nice place
Great place with very nice staff. clean rooms. fresh towels, soap, tea and coffee are always available. many thanks to the owner for helping with everything. I will be happy to return again to this hostel
