A green paradise
Before starting the review I must emphasize the excellent service received. In that sense I felt like family and I didn't want to leave. Maria's cooking is delicious.
The hostel is very well located (near the boardwalk where you can snorkel and the tourist pier; several blocks from the beach restaurants that play loud music). It is also surrounded by trees and flowers.
The room was spacious, very comfortable, with canopy mosquito net, fan, hot shower. It doesn't have a TV, but it does have a good Wi-Fi connection so you wouldn't miss the TV. The first night I felt a little uneasy because the windows didn't have glass, only mosquito nets, but the weather allowed it and you could also hear the crashing of the waves on the beach. The only problem I can find is that the walls were very thin and you could hear everything. I also found all the guests very respectful and you could sleep very well. In that aspect I think that the "tree cabin" must be the quietest because it is separated from the house.
My room opened onto a balcony from where you can see the sea.
The hostel has a beautiful terrace where you can eat under the shelter of the trees, Paraguayan hammocks to rest and a complete kitchen with a large drinking water dispenser.
I would definitely return.

Great little place
We loved our stay here, our room was like a tree house. The room was very basic, just a bed and a side table on each side of the bed. We had a private outdoor sitting area and our own bathroom. The room was clean, and there is a mosquito net around the bed. There is an ocean view, and you can hear the ocean, so nice for sleeping. The owners are very friendly, and breakfast is available.

Wonderful guest house right on the beach
We've stayed here several times since 2015 and have had a lovely stay every time. The location is amazing, just outside of the center of town and across from the beach. It is a bit quieter here, and the water is relatively calm.
The family that runs the guest house is wonderful! If you want to practice Spanish and converse, they are around but are not imposing at all. My kids were just 4 and 7 the first time we stayed here, and I always felt safe with them.
There is one room with a private bath and AC. There are also some lovely rustic rooms at the front with sea views, including a treehouse room! We stayed in a room with two bedrooms, a private bath, hot water, and ocean views.
The internet works pretty well and is available throughout the property. There is a shared kitchen with a stove and fridge. They also provide drinking water. The family has several dogs and cats, all lovely and well-behaved. There are a few nice common areas with tables and hammocks.

Peaceful and beautiful gem in Puerto Lopez.
If you are searching for a a peaceful, quiet and beautiful place in contact with the beach. Montelibano is the best option.
I've been here for 3 days and 2 nights and the atmosphere is always the same, relaxing, relaxing, relaxing. While hearing the waves.
Pedri and Maria are really kind hosts, besides them if you are a dog lover, you will find here three wonderful dogs shaking their tales for you. (Akin, Cubala and the most playful one Jacko) don't be afraid of them, are big dogs but loveable like all.
Furthermore, besides a stay here I recommend a breakfast of Maria, some typicals with egss but also you can have here tasty Crepes.

Good location and price
The three of us stayed here fir three nights and enjoyed our stay. The hostel is just far enough off the main strip that it was not noisy at night. But is still only a short five minute walk to town.
We stayed upstairs; the rooms are simple and the walls are largely bamboo or wood. A fan was necessary but otherwise the rooms were good. Note that the treehouse looks like a funky place to stay but it has no bathroom of its own.
Breakfast is basic but appropriate for the price. They have a small kitchen for your use including a fridge. Friendly family business.
