Great
We had a great time in this place.
Everything was clean,
The hosts are very nice,
There is a nice beach very close.
There is a small kitchen that we could cook meals.
A green and beautiful garden.
Hot water in the shower...

Amazing Surf Trip
Just spent 2 weeks at Hosteria Guachapeli all inclusive surf guide package with a Bro and where blown away. Sebastian's knowledge of Ecoudors diverse coast and condition requirements was impressive to say the least. It being our first time to Ecoudor we would have been hard pressed to find uncrowded good surf on our own but with Sebastian as guide we scored great waves everyday. The Hosteria Guachapeli is located in a quiet and beautiful spot overlooking a picturesque and almost deserted beach.The Service provided by Sebastian, Alex and staff was top notch and there warmth and kindness made us feel like family. All the food we had in Ecoudor was good but the meals at Hosteria Guachapeli were next level. If you are planing a surf trip or vacation to Ecoudordo yourself the favor of taking advantage of all that Sebastian, Alex and Hosteria Guachapeli have to offer.

Great place to chill and surf!
We stayed over New Year's 2020. The place is great, our room was neat and spacious, no problems with hot water or wifi. Sebastian and Alex are the most hospitable hosts I've ever stayed with. They really went the extra mile to ensure our stay went well. There's a nice surf spot just 300 meters away on the beach where you hardly meet anyone but other people staying at the hotel. The place has less than 10 rooms so it's very communal and you get to know the other guests as well. The breakfast was tasty and nourishing. There are 3 good restaurants nearby (Manglar, Wipeout and De Jinmy) and Ayampe is about a 30-minute walk by the beach, so we usually went there for lunch between morning and afternoon surf.
No wonder many people come to stay with Sebastian and Alex year after year!

As promised
I stumbled across this place while doing a Google search of surf places in Ecuador. After chatting via email with the owner, Sebastian, I booked his week long deluxe surf package as it sounded just like what I was looking for. His website says you will be shown the “best breaks with no crowds”. Over the course of the week, I surfed in about 5 different amazing locations, each having no more than one or two other surfers in site. His site also says “I want my clients to be surfed out by the end of the week”. For the first four days, he took me surfing before breakfast, before lunch, and before dinner for a total of about 6 hours of surfing per day. For the final three days, I needed to cut it down to just two sessions per day because I was getting exhausted. Oh, he even took me surfing on the drive back to his place on the day he picked me up at the airport! Needless to say, by the end of the week, I was pretty wiped out. The surfing package also included meals which were all wonderful and different nearly every day. One day he even cooked up fish we had caught while taking a break from surfing. I can’t say enough about the hospitality Sebastian and his family showed me during the trip and hope someday I can return.

Beautiful place
Overall:
Highly recommend this place. It is in a tranquil, beautiful spot very close to the beach. The hosts are lovely, kind people and will make sure you are taken care of and have the customized vacation that you are looking for. You will see friendly, smiling faces (in both the guests and the staff) and enjoy your stay.
Room:
The accommodations are very pleasant - clean rooms, hot showers, high quality, comfortable beds, WiFi, etc., and the property is very well-managed.
Food:
The food was delicious and varied (fish, ceviche, shrimp, chicken, veggies, soups, so many fresh, tropical fruits, etc.). They asked us what we liked and provided wonderful meals. We never had any stomach issues the entire week we were there.
Surfing:
Sebastian was our friendly, bilingual host and surf guide and took my friend and I surfing every single day. The surfing spots either were completely empty or had a small number of people over a very long stretch on a beach break and it was never crowded. If you want to go surfing twice a day, he will take you out and figure out the best spots given the wave conditions. He provided very skillful coaching, including video coaching which is very helpful in seeing how to make improvements. They can provide you boards if you let them know if advance what you use. Tip - check the forecast for water temperature, know your comfort level and pack accordingly.
Other Activities:
We went whale watching and saw many humpback whales up close - (June through Sept. is the best time for this activity)!. We also went horse-back riding along the beach, through the local town, and passed along some scenic hills. There are lots of activities to chose from as listed on the website and the hosts will hook you up with any activity you would like to do.
You will not be disappointed! This is truly a lovely place to stay.
