Excellent place to stay. Recommended.

Very nice hotel. Clean modern rooms. Helpful, respectful staff. Centrally located. They are pet friendly. When checking in be aware of any events happening in town plaza/park diagonal from the hotel. If they are setting up for a band/fiesta you may want to ask for a room in the back. One problem was we had a room with a double and twin bed and the double bed was the hardest I've ever slept on. I would recommend this hotel.

Basic city hotel convenient for Loja airport

The best feature is that it was convenient for Loja airport for an early morning flight. Had good wifi in the room. Functional hotel and was clean and my room had AC. The bathroom was small but ok. The room was smelly when I arrived, i discovered a container of left over takeout food in the closet. I put that outside and that dealt with the issue

Buy ear plugs!

Our flight from Loja/Catamayo got canceled, so we asked a taxi driver to bring us to a good hotel nearby. He took us here. It's located very central and the room we got was big! The wifi, which we could use in getting informed on the status of our flight, didn't work properly in our room. But the worst thing was the traffic at night. The honking of the cars and trucks just goes on throughout the whole night! We didn't sleep well, whilst we had to get up at 5:15am again to tackle the next flight.
We couldn't check breakfast though, but we got a free dinner from the restaurant downstairs, which looked aweful but the best option around, and it actually wasn't that bad, just very plain. Glad we didn't stay longer.

Only Stay There If You Must

The pluses included an elevator, clean sheets, nice front desk personnel and a view of the square out of our window. They also offered breakfast but, we left too early to take advantage of that.
The negatives were a dirty shower, a HOT room (they had a fan, no air conditioner, but it didn't help much) and the wifi didn't work in our room.
The town itself is unremarkable, but we found ourselves marveling that there were fantastic decorations in the town square that no one had stolen---which would have been a miracle in most big cities of the world. We took a room because we had an early plane to catch and for no other reason. We had a walk around town and were surprised to see a number of hotels and hostels since we had a difficult time finding anything through a web search.
This is a hotel that wouldn't be bad if they put more effort into it, but for now I can only recommend that you check out the room and shower before booking and that you speak Spanish.

Un hotel aceptable pero se escucha el ruido de la calle

La ubicación del hotel es en pleno centro de Catamayo, en una de las esquinas de la plaza principal. La ventaja es tener cerca todo tipo de negocios y sitios para comer, la desventaja: trafico vehicular a toda hora, los buses pasan y se detienen en la plaza principal y se escuchaba la bulla incluso en la madrugada en el cuarto piso. El hotel tiene habitaciones, amplias y la limpieza aceptable. Camas cómodas, escritorio, tiene ventiladores. Pequeños detalles en los baños: el agua caliente funcionaba con un chorro suficiente pero no fuerte y abundante.El anillo del inodoro no estaba bien ajustado, un toallero flojo, mal instalado, y había cabellos en el piso. Tiene wifi, te dan una clave pero funciona sólo en un equipo. En la recepción hay café y aguas aromáticas a disposición todo el tiempo.
