Which is perfectly simple and simply perfect

A Hostel unique to Mocoa in the middle of the rainforest. We stayed two nights here and had wonderful trips, especially to the Dantayaco Canyon, which Janneth, the owner, brought to our attention. She showed us the entrance to the path that outsiders would never find. When we got to the canyon, we were the only ones. A fantastic place to swim and relax and certainly a special experience and yet another true insider tip for travelers. This spot is known as well as only the locals. The waterfall was also very nicely located, but must line up at the back of the canyon. In the evening we got an impromptu nightwalk with Janneth and Victoria meanwhile prepared an excellent fish for dinner. The buildings are made of wood in the typical style of the Amazon rainforest, the windows are open and with mosquito nets, there is an open pool with fresh spring water Huaca Huaca is the most beautiful accommodation in Mocoa. The 20-minute ascent is more than compensated by the location, flair and warmth. What more could you want?

Yes, you can find paradise at a hostel

Most tourists to Mocoa come to experience the natural beauty of Colombia, and it's hard to think of a hostel that is better situated to help you do just that. Huaca Huaca is located along the trail to Fin del Mundo, a spectacular waterfall deep in the jungle, and is the closest place to lodge near the falls. I thorough enjoyed my three-day stay here: Rooms are open to the pure air with no glass in the windows (mosquito nets are provided but weren't necessary during my stay), and there are plenty of common spaces to enjoy relaxation and visiting with others. There is no hot water (not unusual in this part of Colombia), but solar power provides enough electricity to charge phones and provide basic Internet service and lighting. The owner is accommodating to the guests' needs, and I can't think of any improvements to make. The whole facility was immaculate during my stay.
The hostel is about a kilometer along an uphill foot-only path, so there's limited access to food and supplies. I'd suggest contacting the owner (who responded quickly to my queries) a few days in advance if you would like food prepared for you. The four meals I had there were delicious and generously portioned.
I'm not one to spend much of my vacation time doing nothing, but I decided to do just that during my final day at Huaca Huaca. Relaxing in a hammock while jungle rain fell a few feet from me turned out to be a highlight of my trip to Colombia.

Magic Place

The place is incredible! Right next to the entrance of Fin del Mundo. If you are lucky you can see monkeys or Tucans in the garden. On top you have the nicest host ever, the lovely Janet. She has excellent advice for hikes around Mocoa and cares for every guest. I stayed a whole week. Hopefully I can return.

The perfect place to discover Fin del Mundo waterfalls and Putumayo .

We stay at Janet's place 4 nights, with our tent, and we really like our experience there.
The place is on the way to the Fin del Mundo waterfall, at only 20 minutes walking from the main road. The hostel takes place in a luxury jungle, with lots of birds and monkeys among others !
Janet is a very enthusiastic host, always available to explain the different touristic things to do in Putumayo, with the best advices ! Thanks for all !

beautiful but difficult to reach and poor communication

Last place to rest on the muddy path to El fin del Mundo waterfall: you must know that to reach this place, you'll have to walk quite a long way uphill and after sunset you need someone to show you the way. Remember to pick up snacks and drinks, because there is no restaurant service (at the time we were there, Janet could just order food from downtown and ask someone to come up with it). Janet is a pretty nice host, but she does not talk english at all and although I speak Spanish, she did not advice us to come with food so we really suffered isolation. the double cabana is very rustic and nice, but does not allow any privacy - in fact, it overlooks on the kitchen and is directly under the owner's one. extremely minimalistic toilets (no washing basin). Cheap. Beautiful nature surrounding it.
