Probably the cheapest private room you could get in Hong Kong without it being rat infested 🤷♂️, there were actually 2 beds in the room so it would’ve been even cheaper if I had a travel companion. The hot water switch needs to be turned on about 10 minutes before you plan to shower which isn’t really an issue at all. The bathroom is small as can imagine, but does the job for a short stay. The AC is quite loud but you have to consider regarding all of these things that the building is quite old. There were a few bugs that I saw as well but nothing crazy.

It was a small place but it was also stated in the ad.
But to be honest it was super nice, having your own room to a good price.
Recommend it.
Only downside was no access to a safe.
Otherwise really good.

The room was small but very clean and it was a good deal for the price. Most importantly the owner was very nice person welcome you with a smile it’s 24 hours reception so late check in no problem

I should be clear: You get what you pay for, and I knew not to expect 5-star quality for the price I paid. And because I had lived in Hong Kong for more than a decade, I was aware of what kind of facilities might be found in the Chungking Mansions complex, which houses dozens of cheap accommodations. To be fair, the staff at the Unique Hostel was friendly and accommodating, and though the room was old and small, it was functional and met my need to find a cheap room in the Tsim Sha Tsui area where I had an event. Travelers should do their research if they plan to book a spot somewhere in the "mansion."
