Clean, quiet, comfortable.

Clean, quiet, comfortable. Was warmly greeted by Marco upon arrival and he was very kind during our stay. We were there one night before catching a morning flight. Nice walking in nearby parque Cerro Ñielol. Would recommend!

Excellent place to stay in Temuco, the rooms are very nice , comfortable and clean, the attention is super friendly and respectful; breakfast is exquisite!!. Fully recommended (based on our experience).

Unbelievably rude!

Prices are high enough to expect some hospitality but that is not the case. The owner is extremely rude with any request beyond his "rules". Due to bus schedules, I planned to arrive at 5 am, so my friend, who arrived the night before, asked the owner to receive me. Result: the owner refused to do so, saying he sets his own rules... and kicked her out as well in the middle of the night!

Very racist!

Very racist place! Me (German/Danish guy) and my friend (Paraguayan, dark-skinned girl) tried to check in. First they told us that the only room available would cost 45000. We accepted the steep price, but were then told "that is a big room though, but come back at 12:30 and we'll see then." We asked if we could leave our bags, but were told "an Argentinian bus will come in a little while, so we cannot keep your bags, because things will get confused." I asked for the price of the room that would potentially be available and they told us "35000. That price is maybe very high for you guys?" We finally gave up. The story had seemed strange, so at 8pm we came back and I asked the person beind the counter about whether a bus of Argentinians had arrived. They knew nothing of this. He called the guy who had attended us in the morning from the back room to ask him if he had heard anything of the bus. The guy came out and when he saw us started explaining: "no, in the end they never showed up." I called him on the lie and the obvious racism inherent in all this, and we left the premises. After walking for about a block, the guy from the morning came after us in a car, jumped out and started running towards me. I ran away from him several times and my friend called the police.
Don't go there if you are not BLENDA WHITE!

Not a place to return to

We spent one night here and the place is not as cheap as "hostal" would indicate, you can get one of the three star hotals at basically the same price. Collinshouse is clean and well maintained. Loaction is ok. Breakfast was good. Whats missing is a good service. The most basic question a tourist can have in Temuco - if Cierro Nielol was open to visit a certain time was answered with no, when a telephone check made it clear that it was open. Parking is in a long and small spot where cars park behind eachother. We were told that there is no problem to get out as the hotel reception keep all the keys. When it was time to get out it was clear that this was not the case. A visit from a friend who had one glass of juice at breakfast was charged as an additional breakfast. Obviously this hotel caters to people who stay there once.
