Very nice overall stay
Room was clean
Very nice views.
We did not have a top sheet and not sure if that is normal for the hotel or not.
The water pressure in the shower could have been better
I would strongly recommend installing hose and wand type showers. They tend to use less water and make rinsing much easier and more efficient.
We did the breakfast buffet once and a bit expensive and although it was good for the same thing it is free at many hotels for the same thing.

Perhaps the only Option

Deluxe room on 8th floor for 3 nights. For some reason, only 1 bank elevator is operational with longer wait times and limit of 6 max. Terrible WiFi. Overall facility is well worn. Housekeeping inconsistent, left trash bag by the door without replacing the clean room door knob tag. Reception staff friendly and cordial. Same with restaurant servers albeit food was average. Since this is supposed to be the best hotel in town, not much of a choice.

The hotel front desk staff was terrible.

We reserved two Deluxe Queen Twin rooms for a family of four. I requested an accessible room because there would be a wheelchair user during the reservation, but they said there were no vacancies, so I gave up. I looked at the room photos and decided that the slightly more expensive deluxe room would be better, so I booked two of those rooms. When I asked to be moved back to a deluxe room because I was given an accessible room that was a downgrade from my check-in request, they refused, giving various excuses like being fully booked. There was no explanation or notification about the reservation change, yet it seems it's my fault. Even so, I didn't want to stay in a room with one old and small queen bed for the sake of the trip, so I negotiated and managed to get a room change. After that, the hotel staff were constantly unpleasant and discouraged me. The bathroom cleaning is sloppy and hasn't been cleaned properly, and when I asked them to clean it, did I place a special order for them to clean it? When asked, I said I definitely selected Daily Cleaning on the pre-check-in site, but no, you didn't say it at check-in, I remember. What is this guy, am I at fault again, what is this pre-check-in site for?? I got angry.
I travel overseas often, but I'm surprised that this is the first time I've encountered such a bad hotel. It's not very Canadian, or something. It's unpleasant, so I don't recommend it. It was quite inconvenient that there was only one elevator in such a large hotel.

You get what you pay for…

So you can expect this to be a good stay since it is the most expensive hotel in Yellowknife. Spacious rooms (although some of the space should have been used to make the bathroom larger). Mediocre WiFi. But helpful staff. Good restaurant. Close to downtown. Lovely view.
