Room was amazing. Clean. Lots of coffee available. Double shuttles for overflow from the airport were in service. This is the place to stay when in town. Shopping nearby. Would refer patrons to this locale.

If booking accessible room, make sure you're near working elevator.
Booked an accessible room. Was put on the third floor nearest an inoperable elevator that has apparently been out of order for 6 months. Had to walk down the entire hallway to the other elevator. Not acceptable. Hallway carpets need to be cleaned.

Bad hotel experience
I would like to formally complain about our recent stay at the Valhalla Inn from Aug 7 to 8 for the poor level of service we received.
Our room was not cleaned during our stay, We ultimately had to clean the room ourselves, which is completely unacceptable when we paid to stay at a hotel and reasonably expected our room to be properly serviced.
When I went to the front desk to ask if someone could clean our room, I was told that housekeeping stops at 3pm. I then asked for toilet paper and fresh towels, as we had not been provided with what we needed. The response I received was extremely dismissive and I was made to feel as though I was inconveniencing the employee simply asking for basic necessities. We should not have to clean our own hotel room or repeatedly ask for basic supplies. Afterall we paid for this hotel room and we were coming from out of town.
In addition, the pillows provided in. our room was extremely uncomfortable. They did not feel like proper hotel pillows and appeared to be filled with cotton or another material that was super soft and uneven. This made it very difficult to sleep comfortably and we all
Woke up with neck pain the next day.
Overall, the experience was extremely disappointing. The lack of housekeeping, the need to clean the room ourselves, and the lack of basic supplies, the uncomfortable bedding , and the dismissive response from the front desk all contributed to a very poor stay.
We chose the Valhalla Inn expecting a comfortable stay and properly managed stay, and unfortunately, that was not the experience we received. We came from out of town and this hotel came highly recommended to us. This experience was extremely disappointing and never coming here again.

Bedbugs crawling on the floor, in the coffee maker and bathroom
I spent 4 days in room 341 at Valhalla Inn Thunderbay. On the first day we saw3 crawling insects that looked like bedbugs coming from the crease of the wall. Three staff members came o the room and tried to reassure us that the insects were harmless . Later that evening I saw 2 more of the insects and called the front desk. The staff Vanessa described the insects as grass hopers that are harmless. Another delegate saw an insect on the 2nd floor and took it to the front desk where the staff were very casual about the insects. Incidentally my friends who were there for the conference saw 2 of the same insects in there room at 325; The following day I saw more insects crawling in the bathroom, and a maintenance man was sent to inspect the Air-conditioning unit and found nothing. We later saw the bug crawling on the TV table. The last straw was finding the bug in the reservoir of the coffee maker. This room needs to be fumigator and the corner between the table and the AC unit needs to be swept .

Our pest control company has advised that there has been a significant increase in ground beetle activity across the area in recent weeks due to the unusually high temperatures. As a result, many homes and businesses have reported seeing these insects indoors as they seek shelter from the extreme heat.
That said, we understand that regardless of the cause, finding insects in your room, particularly in areas such as the bathroom and coffee maker, is not the experience you expected or deserved. We appreciate you bringing your concerns to the attention of our team throughout your stay and for highlighting the specific areas that require additional attention.

This hotel in Thunder Bay was fantastic. The staff were polite, friendly and helpful with suggestions for food. The location was great as we were easily able to get back onto the trans Canada highway 1. Parking was free and had ample spaces. Shopping was located close by. Our room was spacious, updated and very comfortable and clean. We would recommend this hotel to other travellers.
