A gem - happy surprise!

We got to Russell late and all that was left was this hotel. We were concerned - but it was perfect. Room was freshly painted. New carpet in main bedroom and new flooring in bathroom. Large room.
Very clean. Little fridge and microwave. Window a/c and fan. If you have a bad back might be an issue as mattress not exceptional. Don’t be stopped by old reviews - work has been done! Half the price of the Russell Inn. Don’t let the stairs to get to the room stop you. We didn’t get a chance to try the little restaurant or the bar. We were here on a weekday so very quiet. No access if you can’t do the stairs .

Clean room, pet friendly, very steep steps to get up. Couldn’t find owner to check in and phone number didn’t work for us.

The room was adequate and clean. Sadly it was a very hot day and the hotel has no air conditioning. The room has 2 large windows facing the setting sun - only one of the windows had a curtain. An excellent fridge, microwave and TV - but no coffee! The hotel staff were generaly friendly, and helped where they can. The in-house restaurant looked good with a varied menu and reasonable prices.
This is a budget hotel, so you get what you pay for!

Great experience for such a short stay

The town is so quiet and beautiful. Full of old buildings and history.
We arrive at basically 8 pm when the restaurant and bar was closing. That didn’t matter to the staff. The chef cooked us an entire meal for two and the bartender whipped us up a couple of drinks. The waitress, she was awesome. Excellent customer service. There are no kettles in the room, however; she brought me up a kettle to my room. The manager was very thorough and gave my husband a tour, placed an A/C in the room for us and a fan. The room was very clean and large. The price was great. You can park on the street or the back of the building.
All the staff were so accommodating on such short notice. Very appreciated and would 100% stay again!

It was a basic stay, but I had a clean, safe room which is what I needed. The man who checked me in was really great, and helpful. I would stay again!
