Worst hotel experience I’ve ever had
Construction was ongoing day and night, and staff were untrained and unable to provide answers or assistance. My colleagues experienced severe issues—one’s shower flooded her entire room, covering the floor in mud, while another’s room was infested with ants.
But the worst part was the management’s complete disregard for guests. The hotel treated our stay like a nightclub rather than a place to sleep. During my stay, the hotel had its inaugural grand opening night and hosted loud parties every evening. One night featured a full concert with a stage right outside my patio window, strobe lights shining into rooms, and noise that made rest impossible after a long day of work.
When I went to complain, the manager refused to meet me in the lobby, and I had to find her at the party myself. She treated me as an inconvenience and did nothing to resolve the situation. A hotel board member, visibly drunk, told me, “This is Brazil; you should be partying,” which was both unprofessional and inappropriate.
By 1 a.m., I had had enough and my company booked me a room at another hotel. While I understand the hotel was in a rush to open, it is unacceptable for management to allow guests to stay in a constant party atmosphere without regard for their comfort.
I cannot recommend this hotel under any circumstances.
