The front seat lady was awfully rude. From the moment my friend and myself walked into the office she addressed us as if we did not belong there while being quite polite to other guests. She knocked at the door to say that check out is at 1100 way before time as if to kick us out . Even the next room neighbor was shocked and shared her disbelief to how unprofessional this lady was to me. Finally at 1100 I took myself and my friend’s stuff out of the room to oblige her and she pursued to tell me I couldn’t stay on the property to wait for my friend who had gone out and would be coming back shortly as it was obvious I wouldn’t be able to carry all our belongings by myself. When I asked for her name she refused to share it, for obvious reasons 😡

The pool was ok (not great, nothing special). The room was ok (not great, nothing special). The room we got was directly on the road, which is across the street from the beach, so it was pretty close. But the way they greeted us and the lack of kindness or flexibility was disappointing. We found just about every single person we met in Belize to be lovely, friendly and genuine. But the people who worked at the hotel seemed unhappy and annoyed. We arrived 22 minutes before the official check in time of 2pm. They said our room was not ready, fair enough (though I heavily suspect that it was and saw no one go in or out of our room while we waited). But when I asked if we could sit by the pool while we waited, she said no. There was literally one couple sitting by the otherwise empty pool, we’d clearly be bothering no one. Her reply was “the amenities are not available until 2.” There was no reason for this, it was dumb and a crappy way to welcome someone. No one smiled, they didn’t even say hello when we walked in, just looked at us. I had to initiate the interaction, not the end of the world, just not what you expect in Belize, or in customer service in general. She seemed annoyed by our presence in fact. Also, don’t be fooled by the “rooftop” there is no furniture, tons of bird poop. Good for a quick photo but not by any means a place to hang. The experience was sufficient, but not great. There are many many places to stay here, choose one that actually wants you there.

We had a wonderful stay at La Isla Resort in Caye Caulker. The location is excellent—close to everything, especially great restaurants, making it easy to explore the area on foot. The rooms were clean and comfortable, which made our stay even more enjoyable.
One of the highlights was the large veranda—it was the perfect spot to relax and sit out of the sun while still enjoying the beautiful surroundings. Overall, a great place to stay if you’re visiting Caye Caulker!

This is a great small hotel with amazing sea view and beautifu lscenery. The hotel is simple and extremely well located and accessible by walking from the ferry. The room are simple and clean. We really enjoy our stay
