smelly and terrible

we went into our room after a lot of fuss if we even made a reservation? we entered the room our should i say smoke layer , all the tiles broken in the bathroom, we decided we didn't want to sleep here! after a lot of fussing (again) and fighting about it we called booking and after their interference , the receptionist gave us back the money...
Let me advise you all we sleep quite a lot in hotels but this was probably the worst ever!

Do not stay

First of all let me start off by saying... This hotel is not what it looks like on their advertising page. Upon arrival we instantly thought it was tiny. Reception was dark and miserable. Anyway we thought 'lets see what the rooms are like'. We took the shobby lift which does not fit more than 2 people in, got out and walked to our room. Walking through the corridors we were still not feeling it. We entered our room and the old, dirty, musty horrible smell hit us like a ton of bricks! The room had not been cleaned! The beds had been made that was about it. The Bathroom was disgusting. The shower had mould around the edges, we had no toilet paper, plug socket in the bathroom was damaged, the shower did not work, the pressure only let out drips of water, you could only stay in the shower for 2 minutes until it got blocked and the tray overflowing with water... the list is endless. We stayed here for 4 nights and our room did not get cleaned once! The TV did not work, the curtains were too small for the window, the bed covers were too small for the bed, the window ledge had stale food on it from the previous people staying there. It was absolutely awful. I cant believe we did not have any toilet paper the whole time we were there, it was a good job we had wet wipes on us. We was absolutely furious when the fat guy with the baldly head was on reception because the fire alarm went off twice early hours in the morning and he did not know how to turn it off! I'm sorry but how can you not know how to turn the fire alarm off??? Why has he not been shown this? A lot of the guests were not happy that they had been woken up twice for absolutely no reason at all!!! I cant distress you enough how awful and disgusting this hotel is. Please pay that little bit extra and stay somewhere a lot more nicer. The staff here do not care about their guests!

This is seemed type of hotel men take women into on an hourly rate Where do I even begin ! walked in to check in and the receptionist was slouching with his feet up on the counter . Threw the keys into my hand and pointed to the elevator in a very rude way . No warm water the first evening to take a shower . excuse being that the caretaker was not available to fix . Next morning still no hot water so I took it cold . Next day the elevator broke and had to walk 5 flights up a dingy and dusty stairwell . The room was filthy dirty . Had to clean the window with used Bath towels to get a decent view . reception staff unhelpful in every situation . could not get a partial refund for lack of services . Never again . A hotel from hell .

stay somewhere else if you can

Very handy for the station and I did sleep well. I arrived at 15.30 to be told my room was not yet ready come back in half an hour. At just after 4 the room was ready but not sure what they had done as the carpet had not been hoovered in a while and was also covered in black marks as was the headboard of the bed. The sheets did look clean. My room had a bed and a small chair, no other furniture. There was a TV but as the remote had a battery missing I never found out if it worked, I asked at reception and was told no battery available.The bathroom was also clean but one of the towels was so worn out it had holes in it and as the sink is positioned sideways it was difficult for teeth brushing. The curtain covered half the window leaving the room in full view of those in the building opposite. And despite my efforts to say hello both night and day reception chose to ignore me most of the time. Stay somewhere else if you can

The hotel Koningin Astrid is now a much improved place from the last name Monico, still under alterations but 100% improved, Located in easy reach of trainstation,airport bus and local bus and trams average price for city hotel
