Ibis is the same globally. But it’s that which makes it predictable and therefore a convenient home away from home. It was clean, the staff were polite, attentive and considerate.
The food was good and the ambience pleasant.
It’s 300m away from the Erasme hospital where I needed to be early the following morning as well, so exceptionally convenient.

Extremely hot

Do not book this hotel in the summer unless you are sure you're getting a room with aircon. If we hadn't pre paid for the room and hadn't paid the 10 euro parking fee we would've booked into another hotel. We had a room on the top floor which meant there was 2 windows, one floor level and one on the sloped ceiling. The blinds on the ceiling window were not closed when we arrived which meant the sun was shining in, essentially making the room into a greenhouse. The floor level window had no safety catch on which meant it could open the entire way, absolutely not suitable if you're travelling with a child. We left the windows open while we were out but the room didn't cool down at all. There was a fan in the room with a tiny power lead, which had to be plugged in next to the mirror as the 1 other socket outlet did not work. The USB charging ports either side of the bed also didn't work, meaning we could not run the fan and charge our phones at the same time.
I slept with my head at the other end of the bed to be near the fan and was still dripping in sweat and unable to sleep. To make things worse, as we had to leave the windows open through the night, I was bitten all over by I'm assuming mosquitoes.
There were a couple of positives, the room felt modern (despite the sockets not working), had a good TV and the location was perfect for getting the metro into Brussels

Dear Ashton,
We take your feedback seriously and will use it to improve our services.
We appreciate your recognition of our modern room design and the quality of the TV provided for your comfort during your stay.
We sincerely apologize that your experience fell short in some areas.
While our Superior rooms include air conditioning, we understand the challenges you faced regarding temperature regulation and room features.
Our team is always available to assist with alternative solutions, such as providing additional fans or promptly addressing any maintenance concerns.
We also take note of your feedback about the charging facilities to ensure all amenities function reliably.
Nonetheless, we’re pleased our central location near the Erasmus metro station offered convenient access to Brussels’ vibrant city center during your visit.
We hope to see you again for a more enjoyable experience.
Best wishes,

No air conditioning in 2026?

Room on the top floor in its original state. Small size, terrible heat, no air conditioning, no fridge, impossible to sleep. All of this for a price of €175 per night without breakfast. Positive point: friendly staff.

Cher Quentin,

Worst experience ever

Avoid this hotel at all costs.
I travel frequently and I can honestly say this is one of the most unacceptable hotel experiences I have had in years. We booked expecting the basic standards associated with the ibis brand, but what we found was closer to a low-budget hostel pretending to be a hotel.
The room turns into an oven at night, reaching around 25°C, with absolutely no air conditioning. Sleeping is almost impossible. Opening the window barely helps and makes the stay incredibly uncomfortable.
There is no wardrobe, no closet, no proper furniture to unpack clothes, so for the entire stay we are forced to live directly from our luggage like we are camping indoors.
The bathroom is equally shocking: not even a basic toilet brush is provided. It may sound like a small detail, but it perfectly reflects the complete lack of attention to comfort, hygiene and minimum hospitality standards.
The most frustrating part is that we still have 5 more days left here, feeling trapped in what has been, without exaggeration, the worst hotel experience we have had so far.
This hotel seriously damages the reputation of the ibis brand. If you value comfort, sleep, hygiene and basic respect as a paying customer: book somewhere else.
Absolutely unacceptable.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on your visit.
We sincerely apologize that your experience has not been as expected. While our standard rooms are designed for practicality, we recognize that the current climate control options may not suit all preferences. Guests seeking cooler environments can inquire about upgrading to our Superior rooms with individual air-cooling systems.
Additionally, our team is always available to assist with additional amenities upon request, including bathroom essentials and storage solutions to enhance comfort. We would greatly appreciate the opportunity to make the remainder of your stay enjoyable.
Kind regards,

Unfortunately no air conditioning in the room, so sleeping was a challenge due to the intense heat
