So Lovely

Asim & his wee family are lovely. The location fine & central & also quiet, tucked away yet at night still easy to find your way home & safe. Although at present there only is one toilet with shower to share by the dorms. This can be an inconvenient pain, especially when you need to catch a bus or something. Yet rest assured, Asim is doing some great renovations. Come December or so there will be more easy facilities. Showers, even a games room downstairs, more decorated with plants atmospheric courtyard, better reception area. Upstairs still quiet for sleeping. It's quite a big project & costs him money, yet will be beneficial for all of us. Asim's hostel already attracts international travellers, a woderful place to meet people. I'm Scottish. There were USA, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Bangladeshis when I was there. A great melting pot of cosmopolitan civilizations. And Asim will help with your onwards transportation. And Asim & his family tug these gentle cords together. Please come & be kind together.

under renovation

Having a new owner and right now under renovation. It´s in high need of repair and it will be really nice when ready, late in this year. Owner is very helpful and friendly. Gives all kind of information, restaurants, map, reserved bus tickets for me. Location in center, but it was hard to get there by car. Silent area, good wifi. 25 mins walk from bus station, uphill.

Would not recommend it

Would not recommend this place.
Finding the place involved walking down some dusty back alleys. On arrival, the ground floor looked uninhabited, with stagnant water in the water fountain encouraging mosquitos, and bathrooms you would not wish to use.
Upstairs in the hostel is slightly cleaner. No shoes allowed.
Bathrooms: There appears to be one bathroom/shower room for most, or all, of the guests. Hot water came on quickly
All noise travels across the hostel. There were two people outside and one in the kitchen taking in hushed tones at 2am, I could hear it all from the bedroom.
Room: Air con was advertised but not switched on (unplugged and with no remote). The room was unbearably hot.
Security: Rooms have no lockers and the doors do not lock, so ensure your luggage has a padlock.
Kitchen: there was a joint kitchen, see photos for more.
For the sake of your sleep, find another hostel

Nice place, good internet, comfortable location. During staying they offered tea for us. The guys on the reception wants to do something interesting with the hostel. They have interesting ideas, so, wish them good luck.

Must Stay Place

Great hostel with great people. Not many people speak English in Sheki and this definitely distinguishes this hostel
I stayed in Sheki for 2 days
My stay was full of surprises like drinking Tea the whole day, free group meal at night and fun filled common room
They were renovating the ground floor in May so more rooms will be available in future
The only thing for improvement is the Lighting which is low in rooms & toilets

Excellent location
