Excellent and quiet

Hotel on a hill family run, very quiet area not far from the lakes area much more '"busy" , owner apparently gruff but very nice, English broken but understandable (other staff speaks fluently) you can also dine at a more' than fair price (sweet offered). Large and clean rooms, large bathroom. There's no air conditioning.

Like at home

This good hotel, with corridors filled with family photos, is located at the top of the village (the route is signposted from the moment you cross the railway line).
The rooms are comfortable and some have balconies; the bedding is of good quality, although perhaps a little soft for those who like it hard.
Even if pastries and fresh fruit are not present every day, the breakfast is rather varied, with many types of bread. The food is good (except, obviously, on evenings off - remember to check)
To govern in another opinion, it is true that at the end of the day, the boss is not very available; we can understand it even if this “discretion” is sometimes exaggerated.
Television side for French speakers: France 24 on channel 1144 and TV5 Monde on channel 1174.
A good base for a stay in Carinthia or even for a getaway to Slovenia

Austrian charm at its best, with stunning views

The location is stunning, and convenient if you have a car, its a short drive from Klagenfurt and lake worthersee. The hotel is family run and they were all friendly & welcoming. The view from the balcony in our room (room 6) was beautiful it is such a peaceful & relaxing place to be. If you like generic, modern hotels this is NOT the place for you, if you like rustic Austrian charm, rest & relaxation then this IS the place to stay.

Lovely family run hotel

We stayed at Hotel Sonnenhof for one week. It's located in a rural area with stunning scenery surrounding it. The family who run the hotel are warm and welcoming. Our room was lovely and kept immaculately clean. Breakfasts are generous and good quality. We ate there on three nights and thought the food was delicious. The owners son Marius went out of his way for us which we hugely appreciated. Highly recommend this hotel for a little bit of serenity and Austrian charm!

Very quiet location.

Simple no thrill 3 star hotel with friendly staff. Located 10 min drive from center Klagenfurt. Owner Marius speaks English very well. The rooms all have a view and a balcony access, large enough rooms, all very clean. Restaurant ok, especially outdoors. Breakfast simple but good. Non smoking rooms, but ashtray available on balcony.
